As soon as this product got here I went out and tested on my 118 lb black german sheppard. The brush works as stated in the sale pitch. It was taking big chunks of the under coat off and cleaning with a simple swap across the face after you retracted the teeth. Great product.

Good quality brush for our lab mix dog. It helps brush off some of the hair he's shedding, while also cleaning him a bit. It's good to use this a couple of times per-week. It isn't the most intense deshedder, but that isn't always neccessary. This cleans and does maintenance while removing whatever is loose. We are on our second, so had to replace after carrying it around in his dog park bag for about a year and a half.

I bought this thinking it would be “just another pet brush”… and now I’m wondering where it’s been my whole life. I have a dog that sheds like it’s his full-time job. Couch? Covered. Car? Covered. Clothes? Forget about it. I’ve tried multiple brushes before, and they either didn’t grab much hair or turned grooming into a wrestling match. Then this happened. The Swihauk Self Cleaning Slicker Brush is a game changer. First pass — I’m not kidding — it pulled out an insane amount of loose fur. Like, “is my dog secretly two dogs?” level. And the best part? My dog actually ENJOYS it. No pulling, no scratching, no trying to escape mid-brush. The bristles are soft enough to be gentle but still effective, so it gets deep into the coat without irritating the skin. It feels more like a massage than grooming, which is probably why my dog just sits there now like he’s at a spa. But the real magic is the self-cleaning button. You press it once and the fur just… slides right off. No digging hair out of the bristles, no mess, no frustration. I didn’t realize how much I hated cleaning brushes until I didn’t have to anymore. This is such a nice brush. I use it on my King Charles Cavalier and it smooths out her ears nicely. It’s strong enough to pull the tangles out, but the dulled teeth make it comfortable as well. This brush is great for detangling any matted hair or fur and is super easy to clean. The size is just right for my hand and it keeps brushing a cleaner ordeal than I have experienced. It seems to be good for dogs with thick bristles like hair or dogs with smooth, soft hair like my Shih Tzu. I would recommend this brush ten million times over. Now if only my dogs wouldn’t look at me like I was punishing them for living.

This is a really cool slicker brush. Then bristles can be retracted into the brush for storage. Easy to use, easy to clean, easy on both the coats of my field golden & my show golden. Bristles feel soft to the touch. My Goldens love this brush & so do I. Extremely happy with this purchase. Definitely worth it.
