For too long the debate of dinner serving ware endured! Bowl or plate?! But then, a suggestion: por que no los dos? These have been used nearly every meal since purchased. Microwaves fine - will hold heat for a bit so be careful - and comes out clean from the dishwasher. They do take up a smidge more room in the dish washer, but not the end of the world. They have a bit of texture to the finish that makes me think I will scratch them, but fork and knife or a knock into another dish or serving utensils has done it yet, so just my impression, not a reality yet. Also I wish they were maybe an inch wider in diameter - no changed needed in lip hight. Still very happy they hold my food.

I am in love with these plates! They are just so beautiful! Amazing quality for the price! I’m impressed. I would totally 100% recommend or buy for a gift. They are not too heavy so they can be used daily. Perfect sizes. I wash them in the dishwasher although mine is a portable dishwasher and I have to make sure they are not too close to each other or it won’t wash well since the design has a slight texture.

Updated to say that after having these for a few weeks, i think these don't actually get hot in the microwave as I originally thought. So I raised my rating to 4 stars. They have been chip resistant so far, but they don't fit well in the dishwasher ( they fall over, so I have to space them farther apart so they don't bang I to each other). The pasta bowls were packed well and arrived in very good condition--no chips or cracks. They also arrived in just a few days. I can't speak to the durability since they just arrived. The designs are beautiful both on the inside and outside of the bowls, but they are not as deep blue as the pictures online. They also get VERY hot in the microwave, even where the bowl isn't in contact with the food that is being heated. I really dislike that aspect bc they are advertised as being ceramic, and i understand that ceramic does not get hot to the touch in the microwave (maybe i am wrong?). They get hot in the microwave the same way stoneware does. I decided to keep these anyway; I hope I don't regret it later.
