    • Very nice Seiko, especially for the price
Arrived on time and the indices line up perfectly. I see Seiko actually improved on their design since it's introduction, the made the bi-directional bezel a ratcheting one way bezel now and it stays in place quite nicely I might add. The Lume is also improved, it really glows nicely in the dark and stays glowing for hours, nice touch. I did purchase an aftermarket sailcloth blue band to match the watch (review elsewhere and the timepiece came packaged in a nice case and the watch was secured to a small pillow to insure against handling shock, another nice and thoughtful touch. All in all it is a very nice watch and I have a smallish wrist but it don't look at all ungainly on me. Keep in mind this is not a quartz watch but rather a mechanical, self winding movement so the inherent accuracy of a quartz movement is absent however, I full expect it to keep good time with the Seiko mechanical movement. I did not time graph it so we will see how it performs over the long haul as I'm planning on wearing it daily. I will remove it for showering and water activities even though it's 'water resistant' to 100 meters but not going to take the chance, just too nice a timepiece to risk water ingress. All in all, for the price, I give it a 10. Always been a Seiko follower and have a couple other Seiko's as well but this one will be my daily wearer. Just an update on the watch. Been wearing it almost continuously since it arrived here and I can quite honestly say it keeps fantastic time. I've only had to reset it twice since I purchased it in April and it only gained maybe a minute the whole time. I was worried about the power reserve and bought a winder that I've never had to use yet. I do remove it to shower but other than that, it's on my wrist almost continuously. This watch was much better than I expected. I expected this to be my "Entry" level watch for mechanical watches and now I am wondering if it’s even posable to do any better at several times the price. -The dial is perfectly aligned, I looked at this closely given some of the reviews on this being a problem, not a problem with this watch. - The band is even more comfortable that I was expecting. This was an issue for me and one of the points that got me to buy this watch. -The dial and lumen are amazingly legible, I truly love the look of this watch, -The 100 bars of water resistance is more than enough for me, I don't dive. -Love the visible movement on the back...Did I say this watch looks amazing? -The accuracy is off the carts amazing! I've been wearing this watch for 12 days now (regular daily use) and winding it each morning and it has only lost 8 seconds in 12 days. I realize this well beyond the specs of the watch and I may have gotten the Unicorn, but I cannot imagine that I will do any better with a mechanical at any price (maybe a spring drive but that is out of my price range at this time). ... show more

This watch is better than expected. The band is a soft plastic or rubber material and is very comfortable and has flexible adjustment. I love that you can wind the watch fully with five turns of the crown dial. The crown dial has three positions. One position for winding, the middle position for setting day and date, and the outer position for setting the time. The lume glow feature gets very bright when exposed to bright light, but unfortunately does not last long when in the dark. The watch is very attractive and is as pictured. I love how the watch will wind based on arm movements. I also love that the second hand does not jump in increments but moves smoothly across the watch face. This Seiko watch is a nice-looking timepiece and has a clean and classic design. The automatic movement is a nice touch and works well.     • Counterfeit Watch Beware
Amazon should have an ethical responsibility to make sure its loyal customers be protected with sellers that peddle counterfeit products. One of the specs of this product is LumiBrite, a proprietary technology by Seiko that will glow in the dark the watch hour markers and its hand. This watch does not even do that. Amazon should protect their consumers to those sellers that peddle counterfeit product on the marketplace. Money is not an issue here. It is about principle. I considered this as a sunk cost due to my stupidity and it is a lesson learned big time for me. I will not return this product. I am keeping this watch intact, as is, together with the shipping box. If I could convince 10 people to be vigilant in purchasing jewelry such as this watch from Fresh Pearl and Amazon in general, that is good enough for me. And who knows those 10 people could convince 10 more to be vigilant, I think I did my job of the intent of my complaint. I already spoke with SEIKO customer service. SEIKO instructed me to bring the watch to an Authorized Seiko Service Center in my area to authenticate the watch. ... show more
