    • Super impressive Seiko Speedtimer
I absolutely love this watch! I've never been a watch snob but for the longest time, I did gravitate towards expensive "high-end" brands but I was never really happy with them. The more I thought about it, the more I agreed that I simply do not like mechanical watches. I know that's an unpopular opinion in the watch world but they're not for me! I then began looking for high quality quartz watches that feel high end, but don't cost a fortune. This is it! This Seiko Speedtimer line to me is perfect! These watches measure 41.4mm so they have just the right amount of wrist presence, not too large, not too small. The case length and height are both super comfortable and I even love the bracelet it came on. I've bought other Seikos before in the $500 price range that still had cheap bracelets with hollow end links, but that's not the case with this one. In my opinion, this watch should be closer to the $1k mark if they wanted to but at this price it's a bargain! I was torn between which colorway to buy when I first started researching these 41mm Speedtimers and the Pogue-colorway was the first one I got. (I have 4 now, and one of the 39mm ones, that's how much I like them!) I was a little worried that being the dial is goldish-yellow that it would be hard to see, but not there is enough contrast between the dial and the hands to make this easy to read at a glance. The lume is excellent and the two-toned bezel give it a pop of color that makes the watch feel fun and sporty. Plus, I love telling people the colonial Pogue story when they ask about it. If that wasn't enough, I upgraded the bracelet to a jubilee from Islander Watches and wow that really brings out the retro aesthetics in this thing! I didn't even know they made a bracelet for these 41mm Speedtimers. I had searched and searched, even in forums and all I could find were bracelets for the 39mm ones, and mentions that they would be making one soon. Then I was browsing their site and I found it, it's model BRAC-111 (for the jubilee) and wow its super comfortable and adds a bit more bling to the watch. I think Islander needs to improve their SEC maybe, because when I searched nothing had popped up, but anyway, I wanted to mention it in my review in case others are looking for one. ... show more

A fantastic model in the Seiko Prospex lineup. The color combo is one of a kind, and stands out. A great continuation of the “Pogue”. Much like the pieces form the ‘70’s, this has potential to be on the collectors list in 20 years. It fits great, runs well and is reliable- all traits you expect from a Seiko! I have always been a Seiko fan since I was a kid. I have five different Seiko watches and this has to be one of the nicest. The dial is what caught my eye. Real nice bracelet. I put it on my wrist and don't even know it's there after a minute(or less). I have resized many watch bracelets and this was the first "pin and collar" type. When I took apart the first link and saw the collar I am thinking where did this come from. I watched several you tube videos and they did not apply to this bracelet. They all showed inserting the collar on one end of the bracelet. I finally figured it out. The collar is inserted into one end of a center link. It will only go in from one side. The collar is so small it was a struggle inserting the collar into the bracelet. It would fly off of my tweezers or even my small pliers. I finally installed the collar on a straight pin and inserted it into a bracelet center link. Push the straight pin up from the bottom while making sure the collar does not come out with the straight pin. See the pics for reference. ... show more

Not the original Pogue Speedtimer Col Pogue took up to Skylab in 1973. It’s Solar and not a mechanical automatic. It has two extra dials, one 24 hour and one chronograph plus power meter instead of the single subdial. The bracelet is pin and collar and looks nice. Take special care not to lose the collars as they are really tiny and will fall right out. I lost three trying to size the bracelet “they will shoot out of your tweezers like a rocket”. The Pepsi bezel looks great. The gold/yellow/orange dial picks up the light fantastic. Even with the case at 41.5mm, it wears surprisingly well on my 6.5 inch wrist. To summarize, modern Speedtimer complications with colors expressing a nice homage to the original Pogue. I like it very much and consider it a great addition to my collection. ... show more

I'm a watch guy. I buy Seikos for fun. They are inexpensive and a quality watch. This Speedmaster is unbelievable. Quality, size and beauty. I spend a lot of time just looking at it.

I've finally upgraded from Seiko 5 Sport SRPD to a Prospex and I could not be happier with the Pogue v.2 (Just what I'm calling it). Everything pops on this watch. At first, it was the gorgeous dial. When taking a second look and anticipating to see the pretty gold dial, the Pepsi bezel catches your attention. Though the color combo sounds odd, the chosen hue, saturation and value of each color fits perfectly. It actually reminds me of the Filipino flag (Red, White, Blue and Gold). ... show more
