  • Awesome for camping but get a pump
Color: White
Bought this for use on the jeep trail to have nice hot showers every morning or night. But we found out that a small pump from HFT does not provide enough pressure for the heater to kick on. So that was disappointing but understandable because you don’t want to heater on if there’s not enough water pressure. If you hook it up to the water hose at home, it works superb, and that’s awesome for summer outdoor activities when you don’t want the grandkids coming in the house when they’re all muddy or filthy but it’s too cold for them to shower with the hose. Anyway so I got a small higher pressure 12 V pump and it’s small and I can fit it in the mouth of my 5 gallon water container. It barely works and I have to have the 5 gallon tank on top of the jeep so it has the benefit of the pressure of the water in the hose, but it does work and we have a nice hot showers. It takes probably 30 seconds or something maybe to get hot the first time but then when you turn it off and on as you use it it stays hot the whole time. It’s better than the shower in my RV that gets super cold every time you turn it off and then turn it back on even if it’s only for two seconds, I have no idea what that’s all about! I started using this as an outdoor shower in the RV. I just hang on the ladder and hook the water from the RV up to it and then hook the propane from the RV outdoor kitchen up to it also! It’s freaking awesome! So everybody showers in there swimming suit , or if it’s at night… :-) I’m thinking about putting up one of those portable shower enclosure things so we can take real showers in the back of the RV outdoors. The RV provides plenty of pressure and help with the grey water tank situation if your dry camping. Great product and a great price! ... show more

  • Stopped working after the first use
Color: White
I really wanted to like this product but unfortunately it stopped working after the first use. The first time i used it, it kept shutting off. But i did get it to work effectively. Two days later i go to yse it for the second time and and it turned on for a bit and then shut off and would not turn back on. I went through all of the trouble shooting steps but it still will not turn back or function at all. Im sending it back and asking for a full refund. ... show more

  • Was unusable, water did not stay warm, fixed
Color: White
The media could not be loaded. Very disappointed (at first). First, let me preface this review by stating I own 3 tankless water heaters - a large natural gas Rinnai unit for our main home, and two 240V electric heaters, one 12KW and a smaller 6KW, that heat water in our smaller house/cabin, so I understand all the requirements, setup, workings, and nuances of these devices. (I've done a complete breakdown and restoral of an older Navien NG unit as well) I bought this with high hopes of having an outdoor propane-fueled water heater, it's primary function to give our large dog warm baths in the cooler months, and secondary uses, possible travel, and as an emergency heater in the rare event our electric and NG both stopped working (my solar backup will not suffice for heating water; not enough battery storage yet). I closely followed the instructions and set it up. No water leaks, no gas leak, and I also bled the gas line to purge any trapped air. The propane tank is full. The unit starts up OK, although the clicking from the ignitor does seem to last longer than needed). Hot water at 111 degrees is soon available for a couple of seconds, then the temperature starts dropping rapidly (see video), and drops to low 60s. I have reduced the water flow to its lowest operable level, and that does not help. Tried the front panel controls at all different settings. Did not help. I'm fairly certain I have received a defective unit, so based on several other lower-rated reviews, I will most likely be returning it for a refund, and will purchase another brand that has better reviews. If the manufacturer would care to chime in, I'll listen to any suggestions for a couple of days. Update: Having the curious nature I do, and having better than average repair skills, I had to pull the cover off and look. Found one of the small rubber lines disconnected. Apparently the unit was shutting the burner off off, which is a good thing. Connected and now have a working water heater. I'll keep to evaluate over the next few days, hopefully it will run OK, and I can keep it. I do recommend the manufacturer update their quality control methods. This could have been avoided. Small squeeze clamps would be a good addition for these lines. ... show more

  • Worked fine, but doesn’t get hot enough when it is chilly
Color: White
UPDATE It has been chilly at night (51 degrees) for several nights and this heater won’t get the water above 90 degrees in the morning. That means cold showers and cold dishwashing until afternoon when my catchment water tank has been warmed up in the sun and water heater temp then gets up to 108-118 degrees. I am now on my 5th water heater, living off grid in Hawaii. None of them last long, some are non-functional right out of the box, lol, but I have taken them apart, swapped out various parts, and the end result is they are all pretty much the same. Don’t waste your money on an expensive one, this low budget one is pretty much the exact unit as a more expensive one. ... show more

  • Does not get very hot
Color: White
I can’t get water over 90 degrees - like warm at best. I have a Csmplux that gets screaming hot - save your money but a better unit - this ain’t it. Oh and when assembling the shower head I broke the hose just hand tightening it. Over all this unit is very low performance

  • Works great
Color: White
Works awesome for only paying $110 for it. The only thing is the shower hose broke easily but other then that easy to use.

  • Arrived non functioning.
Color: White
I like the design, everything looks nice, it’s well put together. I got everything hooked up and installed two different sets of batteries and the unit will not power on. Instructions are there, but not incredibly thorough. I’m sending it back and getting something different. I’m guessing I just got a bad unit. Luck of the draw. ... show more
