  • Awesome little welder at a great price!
Color: Blue
We are having a lot of fun with this welder. Keep in mind that you should not plug this into any old outlet, you want to use a 30 amp outlet and most regular house outlets are just 20 amps. Many new houses may have 30 amp outlet set up for an air conditioner that can be used but others won't and many older houses don't. And while I do not recommend this at all, we did briefly test it carefully on a regular 20 amp outlet for only light work and never using it near max power and it worked just fine. But if you are going to use a 20 amp and say 'it works fine,' keep in mind that if you use it for more difficult power sucking jobs or if your house circuit is not up to it, you may trip the house breaker and/or damage your machine, so it is not recommended. We actually have a generator that can put out 30 amps that we use for such things and we did most of our testing that way. Also keep in mind that you MUST use a suitable welding helmet or welding eye protection so that your retinas are not damaged by this too bright light. This is actually essential, it's not one of those less important safety issues you can sorta get by without. You have to protect your vision, don't fry your retinas, you may not even feel it while you damage them. Ok so I'm truly a beginner, I've never welded and did not know mig from tig. But I have a friend who is a skilled and seasoned welder that helped sort it all out. I'd say for someone like me, you'd need to either watch a lot of videos or get some help because you are not going to just get any kind of 'beginner' machine like this and know how to use it quickly with any kind of correctness. There's a number of little details and some learning curve first. However as someone's first machine or just to do light duty work or to have a more portable unit, this thing is great and I had tons of fun using the MIG function welding bits of scrap metal together. With some tips on speed, etc, I was able to do an ok job pretty fast but it helped a ton to have someone there guiding me. However, I turned to my friend for what he thinks about this particular machine compared to the many others that he's used. With his guidance, here is some review info about this particular machine. Success welding on the 20 amps outlet up to 3/8 inch steel but did not try anything harder. On the correct 30 amps power source (the generator), we did both stick welding and TIG on 3/8 inch steel with no problems, so the listing description was completely accurate if not a little conservative there. We also did some TIG on aluminum using CO2 and that also went well. My friend especially appreciated the inverter worked crisply so that all arc starts were quick and smooth with no laboring. He felt the quality of this machine was similar to name brand high end welders that he has. We went through every statement on the listing description and he verified all were very accurate and realistic statements on the real functionality of this unit. The video also is accurate, there were no exaggerations. He did not have any real cons to offer about this machine other than since it is smaller, all the parts are closer together which makes it a little harder to load wire and fidget with some of the controls, but that would be true for all small machines anyway. So yeah, we both like this machine a lot and he was very surprised to find out it was only $94 for this machine which we feel is a super awesome deal. So our review is two thumbs way up, this is a great little rig at a great price and value. ... show more

  • Great for small home projects and quick fixes
Color: Blue
The media could not be loaded. I got this home welder for those small projects and quick fixes where metal needs to be joined. It's my first welder, so a few minutes of learning curve to set it up in MIG mode. First, everything you need to get started is included, EXCEPT the welding mask/gloves/protection. I had to order and wait for delivery of one of these new fangled welding shields that has a high speed dimming glass (passive) and a small LED lamp for illumination when the welder spark isn't creating a super nova worth of light. The setup includes threading the wire spool into the machine and through to the business end of the welding gun. Do this carefully as. I found out that if you let the end of the wire slip at any point after releasing it from its taped bondage, it will unspool in a microsecond. Can't save any of that, so cut it off. Once recovered and the spool is successfully mounted in the tensioning post, push the wire through the roller as instructed by the manual. Keep pushing until it comes out the side, then push it into the base of the welding gun cable, which can then be attached to the unit by inserting it into the socket and giving a twist until tight. I ended up pushing the wire all the way until it came out the nozzle. After connecting the grounding cable and securing to the work piece, plug it in, set the dials, pull the trigger, and make contact. Sparks flying! I'll need to practice technique as it does make a mess with lots of slag. The highest setting did melt through my metal pipe, so ya... it can do that (LOL). I found the instructions rather minimal, but it can all be figured out easily enough. I can recommend this product for home use as it is reasonable easy to set up and use, and doesn't take up a lot of space. It can get the job done. Happy welding! ... show more

  • A robust & reliable gasless MIG, MMA, and Lift TIG stick welder for repairs and DIY.
Color: Blue
This is a very competent MIG & stick welding machine for light/medium repair & DIY work around the home or farm. The IGBT inverter generates 30A to 135A you can can penetrate 5/16" thick mild steel and use 1/16" to1/8" stick welding rods. And the thing weighs less than 8 lbs. Facilitating x (although you must supply you own torch for lift TIG, that is not supplied). Gasless MIG means no more lugging heavy tanks around. MMA means you can weld through rust and save a lot of tedious up-front preparation. Lift TIG (or lift arc) minimizes contamination and is safer than scratch starts. As for the manufacturer, SEESII, I have several of their tools and machines and have found their products to be as resilient and reliable as the big-name (expensive) brands are. I will admit that seeing the SEESII name and their traditional blue paint gave me an immediate reminder of that reliability I have come to appreciate from those guys. It is a little, light thing but allows you to weld steel and stainless. I cannot tell you how many times I had to buy something because I lacked eh capability to weld. I had a pal who had a farm 3 miles from me who owned a Lincoln welding machine, but he passed away in 2016. I haven't welded using my own gear since the late '70s, so I am stoked that I can expand my fabrication, repair and creative DIY projects. Having the capability to weld means all the work will be prettier than my mechanical. work-arounds and certainly stronger. The cost for this lovely machine? $110 currently reduced to $100. That is a pretty decent price for a machine with this capability. ... show more
