i am a beginner learning indoor gardening. I was surprised how easy this kit was. I seeded some herbs. With the little sponges, very seed was started germinating. Will purchase again.

I have used my Aerogarden many times and got these to try as refills. I do like that they are not "pre-seeded" as some are, I want to use my own seeds. The fit is the same, and my seeds have germinated in them just fine. The only difference I have found is that the lids or domes (that hold the moisture in) only sit on top. They do not click into place like the ones that came with my Aerogarden and are therefore easily pushed or will fall off. I don't find that to be a big deal, just something to be aware. I am using an empty storage container turned upside down to act a a cover while germinating. I found the lids really didn't work at all. ... show more

I bought these for my wife who I had just given a hydroponics system to. She used up all the supplies for that and needed replacements. The sponges can only be used once since you remove it with the seedling to plant them both. The photos show what comes in the box (pink goose not included). Using a hydroponics system is a good way to protect your seeds from being eaten by birds. Using the seedpods kit couldn't be easier. Get your hydroponics system set up, put a seed sponge into the plastic grow basket, use the tweezers to place a seed in the sponge, and then take the entire basket and put it into your hydroponics system. You might want to label them if you are growing different types of plants. Once the seeds start to sprout, turn your hydroponics pump and lights on. That is until the plants start to touch the lights then you'll need to transplant them. Much of the kit can be reused except for the sponges and labels. The package is well organized. The items are neatly laid out. They appear to be of comparable quality to the originals that came with our hydroponics setup. No visible defects in any of the included items. While you could possibly find these items separately, it is nice to have them all bundled in a ready to go package so you can focus on growing whatever you're trying to get going. ... show more

I have been growing plants in my home for a while, mostly basil and other herbs. These are just replacements that work in the device. Good quality seems to hold up easy to stick seeds in the dirt cones.

I got this pod kit because I wanted to learn more about how to grow different types of plants. There is no guide or helpful tips with this pack. It just tells you to wet the sponges and put your seeds in and cover it. I gave the 5 star review because I got the product very quickly, and I think that if I knew what I was doing already then I’d probably be happier with it. Also…..these pointy seed holder things are pointy, but I don’t think I’m supposed to fill the thing with seeds and prop it up against the wall. I just wish the instructions had a little bit more information. But so far they work great because I haven’t used them. Lol ... show more
