Great product, bought this in 2023, maybe opened 5 bottle before it stopped working. I dont open too many bottles so just had it on my counter as a background light, contacted customer service in 2025 to get it replaced was told at first it's only 1 year warranty and they won't replace it but was offered a coupon, then they changed their mind and replaced it for me for free. This one works great, I was told it stops charging once it's fully charged but the blue light stays on. Writing the review because they replaced it and customer service was great despite initial rejection for a replacement. It looks great on a counter. This is a great deal for the price. It’s extremely compact and very contemporary looking the seal cutter is it is very discreetly placed on the stand and the Wine remover itself is very very easy to use.

This is fine to use with ordinary wines, with ordinary corks. I found that some corks made of hard non-cork material were quite difficult to extract. But where I found the greatest difficulty was with some very good older french wines that seemed to have dry corks. This opener would not penetrate to the base of the cork, and simply pulled out, breaking the cork. The first three times it happened, I then tried to get the rest of the cork out with a wing corkscrew , but it still didn't budge. I spent a long time digging out as much cork as I could and then pressing a skewer between the outer edge of the cork and the inside the bottle to get some air through. Unfortunately the cork was still fast, but eventually I was able to press the remnants of the cork into the bottle. It happened again last night with the (last) of the bottles of the wonderful french wine , so today I took the bottle with the busted up cork to my local wine store to show them. With his waiters friend (corkscrew), the assistant was easily able to pull the cork to the top in a second, making it easy for me to open fully at home (with my newly acquired waiters friend corkscrew). This experience, plus the fact that some of the plastic-rubbery corks were difficult to remove with the electric wine opener (as they were with the wing corkscrew), makes me think that this particular electric wine opener may not be as strong as it needs to be for those rarely encountered dry corks or for modern non-cork corks. We've had one of these for just over 2 years now and it's been great, has worked flawlessly and marveled about by our friends. We open at least one bottle of wine every day and often 2 or 3, Finally, it seems either the charger or the battery has given out. While a day late, I'm ordering a new one for my bride for Valentines day.... she will be thrilled. Can't say enough good about this, we've also given 2 for gifts. UPDATE: Sadly, it seems the quality of this previously wonderful tool has diminished. Our previous opener consistently enabled removal of the cork once pulled. This one does not, not sure why! Turns out every cork has to be held with needle nose pliers to remove. This one is going back..... ... show more

This was my second Secura electric wine opener. My first worked admirably for years until it died. So I bought another, this one. From the start, it didn’t work as well. Part of the problem is the bottom clear plastic has been replaced by a dark blue, so that even with the light inside you cannot tell if you have it centered on the cork. ( my first one had a clear plastic bottom so you can see how it was placed in the bottle). This one died after only two months of use. It is going in the trash tomorrow. I am now back to using my Coutale mechanical opener. I wonder if I just got a lemon or if Secura has changed its manufacturing source. I would buy another in a heartbeat if it were as good as the first one, which lasted years. UPDATE: I decided to give Secura another try. This time I made sure to order one with a clear plastic at the bottom. Fingers crossed it will work as well as the first one I had. When it works it is awesome! ... show more
