I loved my Magnus Pro XL desk so much I bought a second and put them in an L in my office. Starting from the beginning... The desk, and the boxes it comes in, is very, very heavy. I'm a weight lifter and I had issues moving the boxes around, and needed a second person to get them up the stairs. Assume you'll need help with the assembly unless you're not particularly bright like someone writing this review, and push your way through it. The quality of the whole setup is obvious with the pieces, the tools provided, instructions and just how solid everything is. Install is relatively straightforward; follow the directions, get help with the heavy parts, and a vaguely competent person should be able to get it together (this is from experience putting together two of them). Probably the biggest pain point in the install is getting the provided leatherette mat installed on the desk correctly. It takes a great deal of patience, and persistence. Another reviewer complained of a bulge with the mat, and you can see in the image that it wasn't lined up correctly; bane of my existence buddy. However, once you get it on your desk correctly, there's no reason to do again unless you decide you want a new mat, or you buy another desk. Once the desk is set up, and you have it placed where you want, there's a 50/50 chance the power cable will be on a good side, or a bad side for you. The leg that holds the power is on the left (from the perspective of someone sitting on the desk) and I lost that 50/50 roll. So in my setup, there's a power cable running across the floor to the other wall. Boo! Not the biggest deal in the world, but I would have liked to have been able to put that leg on either side. The desk itself is solid. I mean really solid. It can go up and down with me sitting on it (with my waifish 200lbs of mass). Organizing cables is almost a joy; between all the little magnetic thingies and the cable management system at the back, you can go nuts with great cable organization. I didn't quite achieve "great"; the cable management system at the back of the desk is a bit of a disaster, but at least it's mostly covered by the tray. Any cable management failures are my own and not the desk's. When the tray is closed at the back you can see into the tray from certain angles, but not really unless you try. This does lead to one of the great things about the desk; the customization. You can get monitor arms, magnetic thingies to hold things or store things in place that you never knew you wanted held or stored in place. You can get hutches, different mats, attach things magnetically to the desk because it's metal. I have a three monitor setup using arms and it's been absolutely great. This is the first time in my life that I've been totally uninterested in replacing my work desks because my work desks are amazing. Pros - Very high quality desk. - Very sturdy - Great customization options - Straightforward to install except for the mat. Cons - Very heavy (I guess this is part of the quality) - Installing the mat is an exercise in frustration. - From some angles you can see into the cable tray at the back of the desk. - Power connector is only on the left leg Verdict: I love it. ... show more

I received my order in separate shipments on two different days. After assembling the desk, it is not working at all. The customer service process has been very slow, as support is only available through email, and responses take a long time. I purchased the new Magnus Pro XL with the new white NanoGen table mat. Overall, I do like the sturdiness of the table and the ease of rising up/down but for a premium table it is lacking the final touches which are disappointing. During install I noticed a few issues which I found quite disappointing for a high end table and the premium price I paid. First, the NanoGen table mat does not stay flat to the table and bulges off the table due to the stitching (see photo). Second, underneath the table in a pre-installed screw I noticed that the screw was loose. While tightening, I realized that the screw was stripped which is why it came loose during the delivery. Next, the “hidden” cable system is very open if you look from the back and not sure why there is nothing hiding the gap from the top to the base of the cable shelf (see photo). Finally, on the premium heavy duty monitor mount the nice red aluminum decor pieces do not stay flag on the product and is already loose as well (see photo). Again, a nice product which is about 85% of the way there but there were corners that were cut that is quite disappointing for a premium desk (and cost). ... show more
