For starters, I usually purchase the Aldi brand dark roast. But, due to the Covid situation I wasn't willing to make the trek 2 hours out of town for my usual stocking up of goods. The risk wasn't worth it. I remembered trying Seattle's Best at a hotel I stayed at one time and really enjoyed it. I'm so glad I decided to get it. It's nice, dark, and smooth. Not bitter at all! I have purchased Seattle's Best Coffee for several years, and a few of their offerings are OK (Their #4 and #5 coffees are decent). This one, unfortunately, is not. It is not only flavorless and one dimensional, it has a characteristic that is hard to describe that makes it worse than just drinking a bad cup of coffee. It's basically about on par with the worst cup of diner coffee you've ever drank. POST ALLEY: This roast is pretty decent. For a "french roast" it's remarkably smooth and not as "smoky" or bitter as some can be. If you're somebody who finds that Starbucks darker roasts are just a bit too much to handle, you might like this one. Over the years, I've tried many of the Seattle's Best roasts and have only found the ones numbered 4 and 5 to be drinkable, the rest are much too weak for my palate. Seattle Best dark roasts have been in my rotation of good quality coffee for years. The taste is true dark roast and satisfying. It's definitely one of my favorites.

Love this blend of dark roast coffee!! It's rich and smooth tasting without any bitterness. It's a good price when available. The only downside is that it's not always available.

I'm not much for decaf but I use it in the winter cause I like coffee before I go to bed. This coffee hits all the marks. It's tasty no after taste and you'd never know it's decaf. I will buy more.

I'm a very picky coffee drinker. I'm originally from Seattle. I drink Starbucks and other good quality coffees. I ordered this on a whim off of Amazon and was hesitant... but I absolutely love it! I will order this again. It's so much cheaper and it's just as good!!
