SO far a nice item, except like other say there's a lot of slop between the upper part and the lower section. Almost 2 16th inch cap, which make it wobble and that's not good. Looks to be very sturdy and if the welds hold, it should last for a long time. Fair quality to me, but you get what you pay for. I put a 3 inch long piece a metal shaped into a semicircle to take up the slop and it appears to work well. ... show more

I went with this as a cheaper option to get me through this summer for a deck seat mount on my 14ft boat. To be honest I love the concept of it and the quality of the metal is durable. However, as you can see in the photos there is only one pin going through the center pole. There’s a large gap between the top mount pole and the base pole, allowing for a large amount of wiggle room. This made my deck seat rock back and fourth like crazy. I went ahead and drilled some holes through the center and added a bolt, nut and washer to secure it from rocking. With that, I am no longer able to easily adjust the height of my chair. This could have been avoided by decreasing the clearance space between poles or adding a second pin hole. I will be replacing. ... show more
