The suit itself is a thinner material, but thicker than a rash guard, not sure the warmth in the water. I purchased this for open water swimming in mountain lakes. It is well made, and vibrant colors. Easy to get on and off with the zipper and velcro. I feel very mobile in this based on the thickness. I am leaving this review as sizing was not as easy to deduce based on reviews and the sizing chart and I want to help out others. I will not deduct stars for sizing. I am 5'7 and 155lbs. An athletic build with a good sized rump. I ordered a medium based on everything I read. I feel I would order a small as the larger areas need to come down a bit. The armpits and chest area have extra material and the rump...as you can see from the side photo, the back does not accommodate for curves and instead comes straight up leaving a large gap. I think a smaller size would fix this. The length of the sleeves and legs were great, I am curious if the small will be too short in those areas. The stirrups seem secure to stay on while I swim with no boots, however I have not tried as I know the overall fit is a little large. I gave a 4 based on the issues with the curves fit. I am hopeful a smaller size/tighter fit will aid with the fit of the curves. I hope this helps the next person.

Easy to get on/off and works very well for warm water diving. I got a ton of compliments on the trip. It also packs small to save room in the luggage and drys quickly between dives. Perfect for Caribbean waters.

he wetsuit is very beautiful. I bought size M. My height is 164 cm, weight 67 kg. Arm length 53 cm, back width 35 cm, hip circumference 100 cm, waist circumference 81 cm. Since the material stretches well, despite the size chart, the suit is too big for me. But you can only understand this in the water. The sleeves are too long, it's loose in the hips (because the pattern expands at the hips), there's free space in the upper back area where water gets in. Where water doesn't get in, it's comfortable (I swam in an outdoor pool, air temperature 19°C, water 24°C). Perhaps I don't have enough height for this size. If you have the same measurements, you should probably buy size S.

Just be aware thet this wetsuit runs big - I am 5.5 - 178 LB, curvy body, 40DD and I followed the size chart for an XL but unfortunately it is bigger than I need. it is so gorgeous, stretchy and well made that my hubby & dive buddy decided to keep it to himself. I am ordering a Large for me. Do not be afraid to buy this Wonderful wetsuit -from now on no more 3mm wetsuits when destionation is Caribbean! Normally the water temperature where we dive has been around 88 F or 86F - so the 3mm Mares divesuit was excruciating hot in the sun.

I live on Oahu and have a 5 foot deep pool that does not get much sun in winter so I bought the 1.5 mm wetsuit to wear in it. Measured my 5’7” 165 lb body then ordered XL but the thigh area was too baggy so I traded in for L which fits better (maybe XL for someone near my height and weight with a pear shaped body would work?) If you are considering buying a wetsuit for the first time be sure it fits snugly around your body or it will do a poor job of keeping you warm because neoprene expands slightly in water. I find this 1.5 mm wetsuit warms up the initial rush of cold water around my body quickly and keeps it at a good temperature throughout my pool sessions. It also zips up exceedingly well and the neck is not too tight. A couple of reviewers mentioned the velcro on the neck does not stick properly. I discovered mine had a small square of black material covering the hook side of the velcro and found if I removed that square patch the velcro worked just fine around my neck after that.
