I purchased 2 drives sold by Global Silicon Electronics, Inc. ---- one of the drive was defective out of the box (will not initialize and was making noises as if the head had crashed). It took too long just to get a replacement through Amazon (I needed both the drives as part of a NAS RAID system) ------ much faster to return and buy another ......... very strange !!! ... show more

    • Drive Failed and Seagate Does Not Honor the Warranty
I purchased three of 14 GB drives on September 16, 2019. One of them failed in February 2022. Seagate advertises a 5-year warranty on these Pro drives. When I registered the product and initiated a warranty claim, Seagate does not honor the warranty and asks me to contact Amazon! This lacks ethics and shows the company does not stand behind its products. ... show more
