Ive been using the rectangular ones on my motor for 3 years, and lately i just figured id see if the round muffs worked any better. Well, sure enough, ill never go back to the rectangular ones. These make the motor shoot water from the motor with force! Mercury(tracker) 2 stroke, 2 cylinder, 40hp.

This little cheap device does a lot more than the more expensive double sided rectangular one. I see the water pump out the tell tale immediately after I turn on the water. The more expensive model I’ve seen work on other motors but not on my Evinrudes. Came to a point where I was using my garbage cans to run my motors with water. I highly recommend this product.

Worked as described, fit my motor nice and secure. Allowed me to check my motor function at my house with a regular hose attached. As long as you start running your water through the motor before starting, and just let it idle, it should be fine.
