This 13lb fluke style anchor, paired with 5' of 5/16" chain, has no problems hold our 20' deck boat (approximately 3100lbs) in place on a soft/sandy bottom. I let the anchor line out at about a 4:1 ratio to the water depth. Perfect setup.

Worked great until it didn’t. Used it twice and the second time it got stuck in the sand and we had to cut it loose cause it couldn’t be maneuvered out.

I have a much larger anchor like this. I purchased it several years ago because it wasn’t expensive and it was all I could find. It’s way too much anchor for our 22ft tritoon. Picked this up a couple weeks ago. It’s the size rated for our boat and it only weighs 8lbs The Lake Express ferry throws huge waves when it comes into the channel from Lake Michigan. Used this anchor with plenty of rope as usual and the chain. We were watching people chase their boats because their anchors didn’t hold. Ours held even though they were using the same size anchor on smaller boats. Not enough rope. I use 6ft of rope for every foot of water. I love this anchor.
