Description

The Sea to Summit Ether Light XT Extreme Cold-Weather Insulated Air Mattress is an extra-thick and extra-warm 4-season sleeping pad for winter backpacking and camping. Its Air Sprung Cell construction mimics a spring mattress, maintaining more body contact area and even dispersion of pressure for restful backcountry slumber. At 4 inches thick, the sleeping pad features a single-layer design with fully-insulated flexible loops, providing a plush, warm sleeping surface. The multi-function reversible valve allows for fast and easy inflation—with the integrated Airstream Pumpsack which inflates the pad in just a few breaths—one-way deflation for quick packup, and fine-tuning of air pressure for a good night’s sleep. The insulated pad features Thermolite insulation which lofts up inside the Air Sprung Cells to prevent convective heat loss to the cold ground, as well as Exkin Platinum reflective fabric which radiates heat back during sleep (R-Value of 6.2—the higher the R-value, the warmer the sleeping pad). Non-slip 30D/40D nylon face fabric is durable and quiet. Very comfortable at four inches thick,even though not the warmest and lightest like the thermarest Neo air Xtherm. I was hoping they would have the rectangular version with the temperature rating of the women's version temperature rating, which is a tapered sleeping pad, however the temperature rating of this pad is slightly lower. Not a fan of tapered sleeping pads as they are too narrow and I roll off easily. Another thing I dislike about this pad is that, it is very noisy when you are turning on it. I purchased a sea to summit Aeros Ultralight regular pillow and it is punctured and I used the 3m included patch kit for the sleeping bag to patch it and it still keeps deflating, so that was a waste of $40.00 and it was not the most comfortable pillow,as it keeps sliding around and has no back straps to hold it still in place on the pad. The pillow lock feature on the back of the pillow doesn't work well either, so I will be returning it. ... show more

Needed a sleeping pad for fieldwork in Antarctica so I searched for a good insulation rating. This sleeping pad came with a high R rating, super lightweight and was easy to inflate. The carrying bag turns into an inflation device and makes quick work of the job. No more getting light headed manually blowing air to inflate! I used this sleeping for 30 days of tent camping during the Antarctic summer and it held up wonderfully. Highly suggest for those who enjoy winter adventures! ... show more

This is a super comfortable mat. It also worked well in the cold (low 40s). Inflating it would invariably take about 5 minutes, and was more of a process than one of the competing mats.

Ive had this for a while now. I don't find it to really be all that warm. I've only filled it with the sack and not using my breath. I've tried it really filled up and also a little softer. It is easy to fill up with the sack. Takes about 5 bags full and its aired up. May be because I don't find it that comfortable that I think its not warm???? Oh yeah, I'm a side sleeper and I just can't get to comfortable on this thing. Idk? May be its how I sleep or my body type but I'm just not impressed with this especially for the $. I had an Overmont self inflating pad that was super comfortable but after about 10 uses it loses air and I can't get a hold of the company. ... show more

I had this pad recommended to me, I saved up and spent the big bucks on it. First night out, in a tent, with zero visible holes or anything, needed to be inflated 3 times overnight. QC issue is insane for this high end of an item. I've had other sea to summit items and loved them they are usually great but this was very poor on their end. I did insure the fill valve was closed all the way and had additional protection underneath the pad, used the stuff sack blow up feature and it was not below 70 degrees Fahrenheit. I've had a 60 dollar klymit out perform this pad, this was supposed to replace my 7 year old klymit that finally started failing to stay full all night, low and behold this thing out of the box fails me. Upgrading to a hammock and going to be done with sleeping pads. ... show more
