I have been having a lot of trouble with the rectangular muffs because they don't sit flush on my 50 hp Evinrude. These circular muffs fit much better and allow greater pressure to enter the water intake.

Works great for hooking up a hose to my 1996 Evinrude 25 hp outboard for running the motor to make sure everything's OK before launching in the spring. I run in fresh water so there's no need to flush at the end of the season. The unit does not seal perfectly, but it doesn't need to - just has to get enough water to the water pump to lubricate the pump and keep the motor cool, which it does. ... show more

I wouldn't buy anything else this work great!! It fits tight enough so you can get plenty of water going through your motor. Before this I bought one at Wal-Mart that I paid more money for it was a rectangle shape no water would come out of the tall tail, I ended replacing the water pump, then very hot water would come out it hurt to tough it. I ended up taking it to the shop and the mechanic told that I might be using the wrong motor flush. Sure enough I was, he recommended this one or even one just like it and now it flushes great...no problems!! ... show more
