This case is really pretty nice! Fits like a glove and doesn't show fingerprints which I like. It doesn't really look like leather. It looks more like a black fiberglass. It is somewhat soft to the touch. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is due to the smell. It has an odor to the material and it's quite strong. I have had it on my Macbook for over a week and it still has an odor but it seems like it is getting better. If you hold the Macbook, or use it resting on your lap, your hands and/or clothes will have the odor as well. I'm hoping that after a few weeks it will disappear. Other than that, it is a great case that gives it protection, gives the Macbook a great look and is better than a lot of other cases out there on the market. And by the way, there's no scratchy posts that stick up and scratch your wrists while typing. A lot of other cases out there seem to have this issue. Hope this review has helped you decide. Like I said, great item other than the odor. And in case you are wondering, the odor is more of a chemical smell. It must be the adhesive they use to adhere the faux leather-like material onto the hard plastic. Thanks!

This case looks awesome, dissipates heat well and is very unique with the hole in the center showing the Apple logo. There are limited case options for the MacBook Pro A1278 mid-2012 model - and this one fits like a glove and has no sharp edges. I looked forever and after deciding on this case I had it on one of my MacBook Pro computers for less than 5 minutes before I bough the same case for my other MacBook. Slap on a glow sticker over the Apple logo in different colors and you have 2 nearly identical computers that are easy to tell apart.

Tried finding a heavy-duty protective case for my old 2010 MacBook Pro, with (obviously) very few results. Although I wouldn't necessarily qualify it as a "protective" case for falls, having something is better than nothing in my book, and this one was the most "nice-looking" compared to the cheap-looking plastic ones that I know wouldn't protect it. The only other one I could find semi-like this one was a leather-type folio that didn't cover any edges, so pointless for my reasons for buying. I like that this covers almost all the edges (the two back bottom corners are unprotected, but it would have to be a crazy precise fall to hit them, in which case you are very unlucky). Clips on well to my old pro, all ports are in the right place and open. I do think it gives it a bit of a professional look to it (like a portfolio cover would), but it's also not like this is a high-dollar expensive leather case, but overall a good look. Whatever color you get for the top and bottom, know that the surrounding plastic on the sides will always be black. The "Champagne Gold" would be more accurate if labeled "Glistening Tan", the "Black" definitely looks the nicest and is the most professional in my opinion. Took awhile to get used to carrying it around since at first it felt a bit more bulky, but after a few days I decided I liked it and that it made my pro feel sturdier, good for gripping, and gave me more ease of mind about it being protected (why I bought it). The keyboard cover is pretty awkward at first and doesn't look as pretty as the picture, but hey, I'm using it fine now and it's keeping the crumbs out as designed. Overall, glad I bought it, plan on keeping it.

This is the best cover I've had since I got my MacBook Pro in 2011. I've gone through 3 other covers and this one is the most durable, protective and flexible that I've had. It stays on, looks really classy and professional (and I'm a purple girl so wasn't looking for something this snazzy), and has done a great job of protecting my laptop when I drop it! I got this cover after dropping my Mac, again, and having to have major repairs done because I broke it's back, literally. This cover has given great protection without having to have a military tank cover with a Fort Knox system.

So this is one of the few reviews I’ve actually left. And it’s all in the hope they will keep making this product. This case came beautifully packaged and was the easiest installation. Of. My. Life. I love the way it feels soft but offers protection. It’s not super gold more like tan... but still looks classy and sturdy. I’m so happy I decided to give this case a try. I had almost given up on finding what I wanted. It fit my a1278 PERFECTLY. What a wonderful case!!!

Fits perfectly the color is gold, it has a leathery texture but as you can see it almost looks like fiberglass but that being said I still love it. Seems very sturdy fits well on each corner, and doesn't seem like it will fall off easily. Worth the price definitly!
