  • SE does it again
Color: SE7 (2 pack)
I was in need of some SDCs for a second mic package but didn’t want to drop $700 on another pair of KSM132s. I did some research and came across the SE7. This is the only mic I could find in this price range that had both HPF and a pad… which is amazing. It also has great construction and doesn’t feel cheap at all. Overall very impressed with what SE could do with a $110 mic. ... show more

  • Stunning detail and good off axis rejection
Color: RN17
I primarily use this mic in spaced pair with an AEA Ribbon for nylon string guitar. The detail of delicate higher frequency finger picking is amazing. Mic and shock mount are quite heavy, so a good mic stand is necessary. The mic is definitely great in this application. Wouldn't recommend for single mic techniques. ... show more

  • Very nice mics in every way except…
Color: SE7 (2 pack)
These mics are really well made, they look and feel like Neumann KM184 mics which I also have. They sound amazingly good although I have not used them on loud sources like drums or trumpets. Unlike the 184’s they have 10 dB pad and low frequency cut switches. I bought them to use as a low cost boom mic for dialog on student movies. The only con as you might expect is self noise. It can be heard but is obscured if there is any ambient noise in the space. The 184’s are of course dead silent but cost 9X more. Still a good value and good mic. ... show more

  • Great value, low self noise and captures my voice well for meetings, phone calls and podcasting
Color: SE7
I purchased this to replace a Shure SM7B. While the Shure SM7B is great - it's also a typical broadcast-style dynamic microphone and needs to be right in your face to work. It also requires a lot of gain. This SE7 needs phantom power and has plenty of gain, though it is cranked almost as high as the SM7B due to the distance. I purchased this as it's more directional, should pick me up in close proximity, but not everything in my house like a large-diaphragm condenser (LDC). The sE Electronics SE7 definitely fit the bill. In Zoom meetings and podcasts - it's almost no different... except it's better. The microphone picks up much more nuance in my voice and it's about 18 to 20 inches from my face (45 to 50 cm). I've been very pleased with it and have used it for some auditions, podcasting, and making phone calls from my computer. It's not going to replace my main studio microphones (Neumann TLM 193 and Sennheiser 416 MKH) but I definitely might purchase another for podcasting and as a room mic for picking up conversations from more than one person. ... show more

  • Clear natural sound
Color: SE8 Mic
I use this mic to record acoustic guitars. Mic provides a good base sound to work with when recording.

  • Size matters!
Color: SE7
Bought this to replace a Blue Ember and an AT2020, both of which only can be mounted upright (vertically) on my desk stand as they are side driven. The SE7 is driven from the front (mounts horizontally) and is MUCH smaller, so I don't knock it over. The mounting clip that comes with it is really good. The sound, in my flute playing experience, is comparable to the others, as is the price. All three are excellent condenser mikes at $100; the SE7 meets my physical needs better. Do keep in mind that it does not come with an XLR cable, but it does include a useable pop filter. ... show more

  • Working great as high quality drum overheads
Color: SE8 Mic - Vintage (2 pack)
These seem to perfectly fit the bill as paired drum overheads. I also plan to employ them onstage as instrument mics for brass. They are working wonderfully, with full sound, bright and suitability directional. I am using them with the low band pass filters switched on to cut back sound under 80hz.

  • Microphones for recording an instrument
Color: SE7 (2 pack)
These sE Electronics SE7 Matched Pair microphones are an inexpensive way to capture authentic piano. The dynamic range is excellent, and the microphones focus well on the piano excluding sound to the rear of the mics.
