Purchased RCD360 Pro II to add android Auto connectivity to 2015 VW Passat. I did a lot of research before purchasing so installation went fairly straightforward; the only time consuming part was running a wire from a reverse light to RGB converter box. The cable harness included with the unit is plug-in, the included antenna adapter is not very good so I purchased a Dual Fakra Car Radio Antenna Adapter instead (ASIN B07QH762D4); YX2216 or similar RGB to AV camera adaptor is required for factory backup camera to work (ASIN B0C9D1VVCL), I tapped the power for it from a cigarette lighter wiring harness. Very pleased with the final result, steering wheel controls work, Bluetooth and wired Android Auto works as expected, sound is good and installed unit looks like it came from factory. Be aware that if you unplug airbag light connector on the dashboard trim the airbag warning light will come on and you will need a VAG-COM or go to dealer to reset it. ... show more

Best value upgrade to my VW CC2010. - Good build quality (photo attached). Not sure if it comes from the OEM supplier but definitely feels and looks the same quality. The parts has no cosmetic defects like injection mold overflow or anything else. - Easy to install. Basically pull the old unit out and plug this new unit in power on and it works. I am still waiting for the antenna cables to come so now only CarPlay blue tooth. No FM/AM yet. - CarPay works like a charm. My main motivation of get an upgrade is to use CarPlay and this unit nailed it. I used iPhone Xs Max, with iOS 13.1.2. The CarPlay just works. The firmware of the unit seems pretty old and has some bugs some times (for example CarPlay may have no response), but unplug phone and plug back solves the problem. Maybe manually update the firmware can solve this issue. - All control on steering wheel works ask well (next, previous, volume +-, even voice control can enable Siri, surprise to me) ... show more

Original Review: This radio is an upgrade for my 2012 GTI that originally had the RCD 510. I am very happy with the appearance as it looks completely stock. It's important to note that the RCD330 Plus does not have access to Sirius XM radio. This was not a problem for me because Apple CarPlay was the main reason I purchased this unit and I can still stream XM using the Sirius app on my phone. The unit looked brand new and free of scratches. Installation was a breeze. Everything was plug-and-play. Just make sure you order the correct antenna adapter, which is also available on Amazon. All my steering wheel controls work. I noticed that the USB port is active when the car is turned off, but there has been no issues with battery drain. The only issue I've noticed is that CarPlay can be a bit glitchy. I have no problems with my phone in my other car, so I know it must be this unit. Every once in a while, audio from my phone will cut out. Sometimes it happens in the middle of a drive. Other times there's an issue as soon as I plug in my phone. CarPlay will appear to be working properly on the screen, but music from my phone will not come through the car speakers. Removing and replacing the USB wire always resolves the issue immediately, but it's annoying to deal with. I have tried using generic cables and official Apple cables, but the glitches still remain. Another annoying thing is the back-up camera. Since I don't have one installed on my car, the radio displays a warning that the camera isn't active. Sometimes the warning goes away when I put the car in drive, but most of the time it doesn't go away. I have to tap an X to close out the message manually. All in all, even with the glitches, having access to CarPlay with a stock-looking head unit is worth the minor annoyances. I'm not an Apple fan boy by any stretch of the imagination, but for me, the CarPlay UI delivers a better user experience than any other modern car I have driven. Update December 29, 2019 I just upgraded my review from 3 to 4 stars. After about a month of usage I figured out why CarPlay was glitchy. My phone was still connecting to the OEM Bluetooth module. Once I permanently disconnected from my car’s Bluetooth and only relied on the USB connection with the radio, all audio glitches stopped. The only reason why I’m not giving five stars is because the radio keeps looking for a back up camera. Since my 2012 GTI doesn’t have one, I have to manually clear the warning prompt by pressing an X on the screen whenever CarPlay is active. If CarPlay is not in use, the warning prompt usually disappears on its own once the car is over 15 mph. ... show more

This might just be the easiest radio install ever. 2014 Jetta - pop off the radio trim piece, unscrew 4 torx head screws, pull out and unplug factory unit, plug new radio into vehicle harness, slide back into dash, tighten screws down, reinstall radio trim. Done. I took my time because I wanted to make sure I didn't mess things up and I was done in under 30 min. If I had to do over, now that I've done it once, I could easily do this in 15 min without rush. CarPlay, touch screen, tuner, BT, all function like they should. ... show more

I was a little skeptical at first since I read people were having trouble with the screen going off every few minutes. I still decided to order the head unit and was not disappointed at all. The install was extremely easy and my unit came in mint condition. I would highly recommend buying a car panel removal tool to make breaking clips less likely. The quality of the screen is really nice and the unit works flawlessly with my iPhone XS. The only pet peeve I have is that my 2013 VW GTI doesn’t have a backup camera and every time I put it in reverse it shows a camera screen and gives an error (for obvious reasons). However, you can simply just exit out of the screen. I wish there was a way to shut off the back up camera screen. Other than that, this is the best thing I’ve ever purchased. Makes my car feel a lot newer. Shipping was extremely fast as well. Also, just a side note for anyone who has researched RCD 330s; this is a Desay unit, which is the better brand RCD 330 you can get. ... show more
