These are great for every day light cleaning/toilet maintenance, but are not going to deep clean your toilet. I did have an issue with the shipping, where for some reason they were returned to amazon, but I contacted customer care and they sent me a replacement. First, it's hard to get the bar out of the wrapper. If you use your hands your fingers are stained blue and it doesn't come off easily. Some bars last longer than others. We do have to clean the toilet less often but not enough to warrant the price. Also, there is no discernable smell.

The first one lasted <3 weeks. It says "up to a month" on the box but I'm single here and flush it down when it's brown, so this should last at least a month, not 3 weeks. I'd say it mighta made it to 20 flushes and I have it suspended over the water so only an 1/8 of the thing is touching tank water. It's not sitting in there dissolving and gumming up the works.
