  • Family fun for everyone!

This is a great game for everyone! My kids all enjoy playing it, ages 5, 8, and 11. My 3 year old likes telling her siblings what to create and seeing it come alive, such as a flying kitten or giant zombie! My husband and I even like watching the kids play and hearing the laughter coming from it as they explore and create with their imaginations. This game is not only fun and funny for all, but it also promotes great problem solving as they must think of items they may need to continue throughout the game. As well as teaches spelling as they must spell out the items they need! ... show more

  • Scribblenauts Mega Pack: (Almost) Everything I Wanted It To Be
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
Scribblenauts Mega Pack was something I only recently learned about, which is rather unfortunate. I really enjoyed Scribblenauts Unmasked on the Wii U, mainly due to how much of a fanservice-y game it was for me, but I did feel it lacked some content to it. Most notably was the main story feeling a little short and some characters I was hopeful for being in the game not being present. However, this re-release has fixed all of those issues for me, while also giving me a fun, first-time playthrough with Unlimited. I'll be working on breaking down each of these games individually, so bear with me! Unlimited: It's a very fun game. A goofy little puzzle adventure involving Maxwell going around and helping people solve their problems. Sometimes the puzzles are rather tricky, though this may just be in my case. Regardless, this "kid's game" is still a very fun time for an adult. The two new locations are my favorites so far: Land of Sweet Hyperbole and Zed Zeppelin. They each have some fun, unique puzzles to them, not to mention some great music and aesthetics. I plan to dive more into it soon, and I'm especially impressed by how long the story mode is in comparison to Unmasked. The tutorial is also really helpful for explaining the new interface, which despite the lack of a touchscreen is INCREDIBLY intuitive. Unmasked: The Scribblenauts game I have the most experience with. Boasting two new locations here: Belle Reve and the (extremely fun) Titans Tower, as well as all the worlds from the original. The selection of characters is a lot better this time as well, with some even getting redesigns to fit the shift from New 52 to Rebirth (thank god for Starfire's new design being here in particular). Going into the Bat-Computer and finding the modern incarnation of Wally West made me feel like a little kid inside. The story itself is the same, featuring some...odd puzzles, mainly the Oa section which would likely be frustrating to some kids given the tight timing on the Orange Lantern puzzle. Outside of these small gripes however, the value of such a cute game acknowledging almost 84 years of DC Comics history on modern systems is limitless for me. Anyways, I would recommend this game. It's far from perfect, possessing much of the clunk from the original versions, but it remains a fun and expansive puzzle game (and superhero battle simulator if you want it to be). Especially at $20, this is worth your attention. ... show more
