A few months ago I ordered the equivalent Yucclim bayonet base bulbs (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09P1X5XXG) through Vine for a couple sewing machines that use them. I was impressed enough with those that I purchased these (at retail, not through Vine) for two machines (a Janome and a Brother serger) that use E12 candelabra base bulbs. This is far better than the original incandescent bulb in either machine. It’s brighter. Much brighter. It’s white (very near daylight color), rather than yellow (like incandescents and warm white LEDs), or blue (like some cool white bulbs). It runs cooler — a LOT cooler — than incandescents. It still gets warm enough that (unless I was in a hurry) I’d let it cool for a couple minutes before changing it, but not nearly as long as I’d wait for an incandescent to cool. The exception to this is the ceramic ring between the base and the clear cover over the LEDs; this is apparently used as a heat sink, and gets quite a bit warmer than the clear cover over the LEDs. If I had to change the bulb without letting it cool for several minutes, I’d be careful about touching the base or ceramic part before it cooled. 5 stars all the way around. I acquired a Baby Lock 1050 sewing machine and immediately replaced the old-skool incandescent bulb, which was harshly bright and hot! The LED light is softer, a superior quality work light, covering a larger area, while producing zero heat.

I have a variety of sewing machines. I was sure that at least one of these would fit this bulb. It did. That is all though- out of five. IS IT BRIGHT? I have to say that this light is very bright and makes it very easy to see when sewing. IS IT EASY TO PUT IN? I am so glad I was able to find the manual for the machine it fit, because I did not know how to put it in. Once you do though, it goes in easily. WHICH MACHINE? The machine that this fit in was an old Juki Serger. THE BOTTOM LINE Make sure that this light bulb will fit your machine. Take out the bulb and really look because I was sure this would fit mine and only one of them ended up being the right one. Get your manual and double check if you don't feel you can remove the bulb right then. MY RATING Once it fit, it is five stars. So far it did not get too hot and it was bright.
