Description

The EXO-AT960 Modular Motorcycle Helmet has evolved from one of the most popular Adventure Motorcycle helmets on the market, the EXO-AT950. Maintaining its high value (in addition to U.S. DOT Certification), ScorpionEXO has now added the latest ECE 22.06 Safety Rating, which requires a wider range of testing than the previous 22.05 certification. The EXO-AT960 can be used as a full-face ADV helmet with an external peak visor attached, or the peak visor can be removed for a more aerodynamic touring helmet. The oversized eye port is extremely wide for greater peripheral vision and downward visibility, and the modular chin bar can be conveniently flipped up. The internal drop-down Speedview sun-visor allows you to adjust to changing lighting conditions throughout the day. Additionally, the no-fog Everclear shield can be removed, and you can use the EXO- AT960 with goggles for off-road use. Three shell sizes made of Advanced Polycarbonate and dual-density EPS, result in a helmet that is light weight, strong, and protective. And for those who need to stay connected, the EXO-AT960 was specifically designed to integrate with the new EXO-COM BlueTooth Communicator Kit, while the large speaker pockets also make it compatible with many other com systems in the market. Whether you are cruising, touring, commuting, or adventure riding, the AT960 is equipped to handle any terrain!

  • Pretty good helmet
Size: Medium Color: Kryptek Wraith
Been using this helmet almost daily for about a month now. Some points to note: * Helmet was tight for a day or so but has broken in nicely. Fits very comfortably and is by far the most comfortable helmet I've ever worn. My head size is about 7 1/4 and I have an oval type head. I got a medium and it's perfect. My wife is about a 6 3/4 oval and she got the small, which is a perfect fit after break in. *It's still pretty chilly for my morning commute up at 6000 feet in the mountains and the helmet is warm. I ride city to open highway every day for about a 60 mile roundtrip commute. Has a collar around the bottom of the helmet that keeps the cold air from coming in and works really well. Was 38 for one of the morning rides and stayed warm doing 65. 80 in the afternoon and didn't feel like I was going to overheat. *Cruising at 65-70 there isn't a whole lot of noise. I don't feel like I need ear protection. *Visors are really good. Good clarity and no notable fogging so far. Started to fog on me one day but then I opened the front vent and zero fogging after that. Visor stays in place with the cracked position which gives you more air in slower traffic yet still protects you from being hit in the face by bugs and such. However I had a hitchiker honeybee that almost crawled in through the crack lol. That could have been interesting..... *Weight is good. I don't feel like the helmet is too heavy. Used to ride a full face Harley helmet. It was quite a bit heavier and much less comfortable. *The modular flip up full face portion is really good. It is easy to use and makes putting the helmet on and taking it off much easier than a traditional full face. Stays put in the fixed positions. No wonkiness at all. Overall I really like this helmet. Bought one for me and one for the wife and she likes hers too. These helmets are a bit pricey, but you really do get a lot for your money and I think to get a better helmet you would have to spend 700 or more. For us it was worth the money. Excellent helmet!!! ... show more

  • Great helmet!
Size: X-Large Color: Topographic White
First off, this helmet is gorgeous! Just beautiful. I usually wear Large sized helmets and ordered it in Large, but it was crushing my skull with pressure points. I exchanged it to XL and it fit perfect. Two flaws to this beauty though. The worst being that the sun visor slips down randomly. not that often, but enough times to be disappointed by the quality of the helmet, or lack thereof. The second flaw (which is to be expected in all modular helmets) is that it gets pretty noisy above 70mph. But it's not a street helmet so I can't blame it. Those flaws are bearable though. I mean there aren't many ADV helmets that hit all the right points like comfort, modular, sun visor, and of course beautiful colors/graphics/design. I truly love this helmet and wear it every day. Shipping was super fast and exchange was easy and flawless, even though I hate returning/ exchanging due to waste of resources (man power, gas, restocking, etc.) but it really was too small. So on this beautiful helmet I'd probably recommend to get a size up. Oh and it's the latest ECE approved. All in all I highly recommend this gorgeous helmet. ... show more

  • 4-month review; great helmet for the price!
Size: 3X-Large Color: Kryptek Typhon
I have to chuckle every time I read a review that says they expected more for the price; this is a very inexpensive helmet! Inexpensive, yet it delivers a lot of features found in truly expensive helmets. The simple fact that it is a modular adventure/dual sport type of helmet makes it a bit of a rarity. There is a lot of discussion in these reviews about the visor. I personally have not had any issues with it falling down on its own; I keep the fasteners tight. Vibration is not an issue for me either, but I'd account that to a combination of height, motorcycle geometry, windscreen, etc. There is a lot of geometry involved in determining the amount of wind hitting the visor during a ride. That said, I have ridden in a standing position at freeway speeds and didn't find it distracting there either. It is not the quietest helmet I've ever owned, but I would attribute that to the fact that it's an adventure style helmet with visor and it is not the most expensive helmet out there. It would be unfair to compare this to a Shoe or Klim which have a lot more engineering behind them and cost more than double that of this helmet. There is decent venting, though it still fogs up around the nose pretty easily. I cured that issue by adding two small pieces of car door edge protector strip to the face shield around the nose area. Works well, but I haven't spent the day riding in rain yet! My only complaints and reason for 4 stars instead of 5 relate to the face shield and sizing. The lack of pin-lock options for the face shield contribute considerably to the fogging problem and ability to address it without workarounds. I have a big melon; hat size typically around 7 5/8. I purchased the 2X size, which is the largest offered and yet it is still pretty snug. A 3X option would have been great! The last little issue is in some ways related to the sizing problem in that my Cardo Packtalk speakers do not have enough room to fully seat, so it feels like I'm wearing headphones while I'm riding. On a long day-ride that can be bothersome. I'll probably use a Dremel to take out a mm or two (yes I know, not a good idea to take a Dremel to a helmet) behind the speakers. Other than these relatively minor issues, I say again, this is a great helmet for the price and one of the very few options out there for an adventure-style modular helmet. Easily 4 stars at this price-range. ... show more
