I got a 1973 Schwinn Varsity, which had been hanging in a garage so long the tires, though nearly unworn, started breaking into shards. Replaced them with these. They are much more yellow than the ancient tires, but now that they’re on, look good. I did have some trouble getting one of them to seat properly - it kept bulging off the rim as I inflated the new inner tube. The tire says inflate to 70 psi, but I backed off and just did 40. That seemed firm enough for a ride, without the tire coming off. I probably won’t inflate it much more than that anyway, as I’ll just be doing local rides. I’m not expecting them to be high-performance, I just wanted them to fit and look good, which they do. Edit: I had them up to 60 psi today. ... show more

Used on a 1986 Schwinn World Sport, went on fairly easy. I've been riding on it for a few weeks, seems to be getting the job done. These are budget tires - sidewalls read 70 psi, but I wouldn't push your luck. I ride them at 60 psi, which plenty firm enough and well within tolerances. Some negative reviews included inflation to 90 psi. I'd stay safe at 60 psi. At a normal viewing distance they look authentic but very close inspection can reveal the gum walls are merely cosmetic, but at the price, that's fine. ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Purchased because represented as "Original Schwinn" but was not of that quality. The molded edge does not have a sturdy bead to grip onto wheel rim when inflated. When trying to inflate, it would pop off the rim. I did many careful mounting tried, and thought I finally had it, until I road it for a block and it popped off again! ... show more

Rare tire size for my 1980s road bike. This was quick and easy to install. Road on it that same day for 4 miles in the cold rain through the holiday lights boardwalk bike ride on Virginia Beach and no issues. Looks fresh too.
