This is a great buy. It's thick enough for comfort and easy to roll up and store. I use 2 bungee cords to hold it when rolled up, store securely in jumbo garbage bag to stay clean and store away.

Perfect No-Crib Solution

Perfect as a replacement crib. My littlest one sleeps in our room and we wanted to transition from co-sleeping in our master bed to an independent solution without using a traditional crib. We had already purchased an adjustable bed-rail for co-sleeping and wanted to be able to use that for this new configuration as well (taking it off of the queen bed frame and situating it for this twin mattress, connected to a separate headboard.) We shored this Japanese Futon mattress lengthwise against the wall of the master bedroom, guarded by a separate headboard secured to the wall running lengthwise, and the adjustable bed rail on the opposing side. The open side of the futon buts up against the master bed, which is low-slung, creating a slight tiered effect making it easy and safe to reach the little one at any time. It's the perfect solution for our home! The baby has more space than if we had used a crib, and it is more aesthetic to have a nice carved headboard and simple bed rail in place of baby-specific furnishings. It was much more cost effective to set up this way (thrifted headboard + bed rail that we had used on our master bed) and literally every part of this set-up (twin headboard, mattress, adjustable bed-rail) can be reconfigured once the baby is old enough to transition to an actual twin bed frame with clearance. Wonderful that this can be used by day as a play area (big enough for tween siblings and adults) or for co-sleeping during illness/unrest. The mattress is slightly firm and feels nice directly on a carpeted floor. I recommend!

I don't like super soft mattresses, so this is a very good option for me! The mattress itself is thick and very comfortable. This Japanese Futon is a very good option for those who move a lot; it is also affordable. I ordered full size, and it's just so perfect! Love it!

Great mattress, but hard to ship for return/exchange if there is an issue

Ordered this floor mattress for my husband, who has a bad back and needs to sleep on a hard surface while it heals. The mattress itself is great, nice and firm for back issues. I am only giving three stars because the first mattress arrived wet, dirty, and torn, despite being vacuum sealed before shipping. In order to return it, I had to pay $20 for a large enough box at UPS to fit the mattress in order to return it. Just know you have to package the mattress yourself if you need to return/exchange it, and the mattress is so large and bulky, even after being wrapped up in as tight of a ball as was possible without vacuum sealing it, it requires a really large box. The box it was shipped in was quite small, which worked when the mattress was vacuum sealed.
