  • Arrived without a scratch! High quality craftsmanship!
Color: See-thru Black Style: OMEN EXTREME-6 FR
Arrived without a scratch and tuned! The action is low out of the box. Schecter is on top of their game! Great studio guitar or beginner. This thing feels and plays way above the price! That's my honest review....it jams!

  • Beautiful Guitar!
Color: Vintage Sunburst Style: OMEN EXTREME-6 FR
Fantastic instrument! Looks, plays, and sounds like those high-end axes that celebrities/legends play--given to them by makers of elite instruments--to promote and sell high $$ equipment. Yes, a musician can pull music from a wreck. I've heard it. With my own ears. But a hack/novice can't pull sound from a fine instrument. Schecter bridges the gap. I'm 50, have had 1-3 guitars (some cheapos) at a time since 1973; acoustic, semi-acoustic, solid body electric, and handled some of the "finest" money could buy. I still have my Epiphone FT-120 I bought new in 1977. I'm no musician by a long shot, but this Schecter is one of the 'friendliest' I've had the pleasure of spending time with. I returned a Damien (more for metal w/ DMG pickups) I liked for this one. Coupled with a Line 6 Spider IV 15 watt amp, the sounds you can get is a blast. The Floyd Rose "licensed" locking trem takes a little patience to set up, but is fine w/me. It gives the guitar that much more of a custom fit for you. Out of the box, it was near spot on, and near in tune (new strings stretch and go flat daily, depending on your aggression and string guage, etc... stretch 'em when you install 'em!). Finish is eye-popping w/quilted maple sunburst, and I love the look. Makes me want to play it as often as I can. All said... If your a hobby player, BUY THIS GUITAR. If your a paid pro or just plain wealthy, BUY one of THESE, have a blast, and save wear and tear on your name brand rig(s). At this price range, Schecter offers a don't pass gift. ... show more

  • Great Guitar!
Color: Vintage Sunburst Style: OMEN EXTREME-6 FR
I am extremely happy with this purchase, it was a great deal! Thanks Amazon! This guitar is astounding! The paint and inlay are absolutely beautiful! The craftsmanship that was put into this guitar is that which you would expect from a manufacturer whose guitars costs hundreds, if not thousands of dollars more. It came with the action set perfectly, although I am going to have to pull a couple of springs off of the Floyd Rose and re-set it up to my preferences. The Schecter hardware is great, although I would have preferred to have the active SMG pickups. The intonation is great, and most importantly, it feels great in my hands. I actually bought this guitar from Amazon, after returning an vastly inferior Fender Stratocaster. Right out of the box I knew that piece of junk Fender would be on the next UPS truck back to Amazon. I have never felt so ripped-off buying a guitar in my life, and will Never buy another Fender product again. With the money I saved after returning the Fender and purchasing the Schecter, I was also able to buy a Schecter case as well. Right now, the guitar sits in it's case among my collection waiting for me to find the time to re-set it up to my preferences. It is my show piece. Everytime somebody comes over, I have to pull it out and impress them with it's beauty and quality. And they are impressed. Now by oldest brother wants one in a 7-string configuration.... ... show more

  • heed my warning or you'll waste 600 bucks like me...
Color: Black Cherry Style: OMEN EXTREME-6 FR
ive had this guitar for 5 years and for 5 years i wish i had bought something entirely different. here are all the issues ive had with this pos: it feels cheap even compared to guitars half the price, the selector switch half a** works if you flick it 1000 times you might select the set of humbuckers you want, i pulled the knob and stem for the pot that splits the bridge humbucker. the neck can move left to right in the neck pocket, the Floyd rose bridge completely sucks all around its probably the cheapest thing on the entire guitar just today i ripped the threads out of the high e saddle trying to re string it. and the setup was absolute garbage. this guitar single handedly ensures my buisiness goes to anybody else besides schecter. id rather play a cheap squire strat as they have given me zero problems of all the 9 of them ive played lol . hopefully this review helps someome make a better choice on their guitar. in fact dont even buy a guitar from amazon go to a music store and test 100 different guitars and pick the one you like the best. ... show more

  • Daily Driver for all Genres
Color: Vintage Sunburst Style: OMEN EXTREME-6 FR
This is my second Schecter Omen. I wanted a 6 string version with a tremolo, and bought this one. Pros : OMG, this thing is beautiful. Flawless boning on the headstock, neck and body. Dual inlays for the fret markers are set super flush and seamless. The frets appear to be lightly polished and the ends are fully rounded off and flush. The split coil switch really makes a difference in timbre, which is great for doing a quick set 20 minute set without needing to change guitars. The black hardware is so shiny it really pops when the lights hit it. I would be confident enough in it to take this to a gig for a number if genres. Metal, country, funk, blues, theater/entertainment orchestra... the tones fit and the style fits. Also, very little neck drop for me even when hopping and running around to perform. Cons : The neck feels really narrow, and that makes doing singer/songwriter a little tougher in open position. Same for playing classical music or other genres that have chord, bass and melody on one instrument. The volume knobs are in series, so if you mute one knob fully it becomes a kill switch when you swap between one and both pickups. Kinda a style selection more than a con, especially when a kill switch can be useful like in doing some Rage Against the Machine songs. Also, it didn't require any post-purchase setup. The intonation was on point. The action was on point. No dead frets. No rough frets. The tremolo was flat and perfectly flush with the body. It came ready to tune-up and play. Which is exactly what I did. Been loving it since I bought it a few months ago. It is my daily driver guitar. I do early blues/ragtime blues, folk music, and classic rock. This handles all three. ... show more

  • Great guitar, if you want a Floyd Rose
Color: Black Cherry Style: OMEN EXTREME-6 FR
When you get this guitar, you will have to adjust the action, because it is set up to be far too low. But this is easy to do - there are two hex screws at the side of the Floyd Rose, and you just turn each counter-clockwise while hitting the relevant E string, until the you can hit it fairly hard without any fret buzz. Even after doing this, the action is significantly lower than most other guitars. Obviously you will have to re-tune afterwards, which can be a bit of a chore with the Floyd Rose. The guitar came with the necessary hex keys, which is a pleasant surprise.Once I did this, the guitar played great, and dive bombs on the tremolo didn't put it out of tune (with new strings, even). The pickups are passive, but loud, and as good as you will find at this price point. The tone knob is push/pull to split the humbuckers. The finish on the neck is very thin, which gives your left hand a good connection to the string vibrations, and the larger neck size makes this good for shredding (if that's your thing). All in all this is a great guitar, especially for the money. Speaking of money - if you feel you don't need any tremolo at all, you can get the Omen Extreme (no "FR") for significantly less cash. It's the same guitar otherwise, so it would be my recommendation for people who do all their bending with their fingers. ... show more
