These hand-selected gouges and chisels allow beginners to get started carving, intermediate carvers to add to their collection, and professionals to have a backup set or a set to grind at a different bevel. This tool set accommodates everyone. Each tool in this 12pc Foundation Set has been hand sharpened by Belcher Carving Supply, in Ohio. We wanted to offer a premium set for beginners who would like their tools ready to use out of the box. These are ground to a medium bevel for mallet and hand use. PLEASE NOTE - experienced carvers will prefer sharpening the original set to their own preference. We're a small business with a passion for community and mission to make quality woodcarving tools accessible to everyone. Part of that means giving back to the community and supporting programs like 21st Century Heroes. Twice a year, 21st Century Heroes provides a seven-day therapeutic and professionally instructed woodcarving workshop to combat wounded veterans. Hands-on, small group classes are taught in a relaxed environment and are designed to offer the vets with sufficient knowledge and confidence in order for them to continue woodworking when they return to their homes. We look forward to continuing our support of 21st Century Heroes, and other impactful programs in the years to come.
