Using the complete VersiFlex system, you can decorate a variety of materials, including fabrics such as cotton, linen, nylon, and canvas; uncoated wood and stone; and poly-coated products like mugs, tumblers, and signage. Is the VersiFlex ink set a new formula? Yes. The VersiFlex Ink Set is specially-formulated ink set that includes specialty C, M and Y carts, along with an Expander cart that allows for optimal transfers across a range of unique papers and vinyl. The first thing I’ll say about the Sawgrass VersaFlex printer is that it is not worth the price. In my experience, it’s barely usable under any setting. First, the ink on the transfer paper comes out wet—and it must stay wet while you position it on your substrate, whether that’s cotton or uncoated wood. You cannot adjust or reposition the paper once it touches the surface; if you do, the print will smear instantly. Second, you are locked into using Sawgrass’s own VersaFlex Light paper. A 100‑sheet pack costs nearly $100, which is extremely high for consumables. The ink is even worse: over $400 for the four cartridges required. When the printer arrives, the cartridges are only about half full. My cartridges were 52% full. Sawgrass claims this is due to testing before shipment, but if testing consumes roughly $200 worth of ink, that raises serious concerns about the long‑term cost of operating this machine. I’ve attempted several projects —some turned out moderately well, others were complete failures. Sawgrass states that you must use a heat press with adjustable pressure settings,. According to Sawgrass my HTVRont Auto Press 1 is not suitable, meaning I’d have to replace it just to continue using this printer. Customer service is another major disappointment. The much‑advertised setup assistance requires scheduling an appointment a day or two in advance. If you run into issues—as I did with the printer setup —you must open a chat ticket and wait for someone to email you back. I’m still waiting for a response 28 hours later. In the meantime, I had to rely on YouTube and hope the advice was accurate. And be warned: using the wrong ink will permanently destroy the printer. The support and installation instructions are not accurate, apparently written for a previous model and ink system. This is noted on some of the independent YouTubers. I rarely leave negative reviews, but given the high cost of the printer and its consumables, I felt it was important to share my experience. So I spent so many hours with connecting this printer to my laptop, once I think was connected and tried to print guess what it did not work! So I search what to do and it says I had to delete and reinstall the whole thing to my computer! This is so absurd! I did not pay for this much to go through this head ache! It is not a first timers friendly, as a person who is not techy this is really going to throw you off. Now I’m upset coz this printer made me felt so dumb! I think I’m going to return this if this will not work. Setting this printer is soooo hard! And it’s not a touch screen! ... show more

Was so excited to get the Sawgrass. I wanted one for a long time. It seemed like it was pretty easy to set up, although I still haven’t figured out the wireless printing part on it. Faster printing than other sublimation printers that I’ve had. Still need to play with the time and temperature for the pressing and how hard the pressure is to get things to turn out well. I like that you can also use sublimation paper with it and not have to use just the flexi so far I really like it. I’ll use it more and if anything changes, I’ll update the review further. I do also like that the paper goes inside and lace flat on other printers that goes on the outside and causes the edges to occur, which can affect the print so this is a very nice way for it to hold the paper to prevent that. Update I used it will sublimation paper and compared colors to my converted sublimation printer seems the color on the sawgrass is lighter and more fades where as my converted printer the colors are brighter and more rich in color. Not sure if the sawgrass would be worth the money to be honest Added another photo the cup on the left was done with my converted printer the cup on the right was done with the Sawgrass. You can see the color difference in the pink bright compared to faded. ... show more

I’ve been using the Sawgrass VersiFlex for a few days now, and I have to say I didn’t expect it to be this versatile right out of the box. Setup was pretty straightforward, and installing the ink was simple - the guide made it easy, and each cartridge is color-coded. I appreciated that there was no need to force anything into place - everything just clicked together. I ran my first print on a 100% cotton shirt, and it came out great, way softer than vinyl and honestly closer to screen printing in feel. After that, I tried printing on uncoated wood using the same setup and got great results again. The colors transferred beautifully, and the whole process from loading the media to pressing the final piece felt really dialed in. Being able to do cotton, uncoated surfaces, and even sublimation all on one system without switching inks is amazing. The quality and ease of use have been great so far, and I haven’t had any issues with prints, clogging, or smudging. This setup is exactly what I needed for quick project turnaround without having to invest in another printer. If you’re looking to get into different kinds of transfers, I’d definitely recommend this. ... show more
