  • My ‘Go To’ Gloves
Color: Black Size: Large
First things first, I ski almost every day in the winter, over 100 days most season; I’m also a Mountain Host at Park City Mountain so some days when I’m out, I don’t have the option to come in whenever I want. As such I have five pairs of ski gloves (see photo), they each have a purpose, a place, and a condition. I also want to add that my rating for these gloves is based on their suitability for my needs, their value, their quality, and their appearance. I have given these Savior Heated Gloves 5 Stars because they are my ‘go to’ gloves for most days on the mountain, but I still wear other gloves when the conditions or situation warrants. These gloves seem well made, I’ve worn them for probably 50 days this season and don’t see any threads coming loose, holes, or other obvious flaws or wear (though the writing on power button has worn off). They are also good looking and being mostly black, go with most any clothing combination you might wear — the simple white lines that decorate them add a little style. The glove palm and finger tips have a leather covering for additional strength. The heating function is reliable, I turn them on and they get warm; there are three settings: low (1 light), medium (2 lights), and high (3 lights), when you turn them on they startup in the high heat setting. I would say these gloves are suitable for ‘most’ average / normal ski days, for me that means 15 to 30 degrees. If you keep them on low and turn them off when at lunch or taking a break, the batteries should last the entire day (I believe the spec says 6 hours which seems about right). If your ski days include many days below 10 degrees I’d say you’d want to carry a spare set of batteries as you’d likely be on at least the medium setting and possibly high for most of the time (I do have a spare set for those occasions). I don’t think these gloves are suitable for sub zero temperatures for any length of time. On the other hand for warmer ski days (~25 deg +, depending on your tolerance), the gloves are warm enough that you might not even turn them on. Some days I might only turn them on for a few minutes after I’ve been using my phone without gloves on the chairlift, pop them on high for a couple minutes to warm back up. Each glove has a zippered pocket that holds and connects one battery, the batteries connect easily and the zippers work smoothly. The gloves include a ‘wall wart’ charger with a two connector cable so you can charge both batteries at the same time, I haven’t actually timed how long it takes to charge a totally dead battery, but I’d figure 4 - 6 hours. The batteries are semi-proprietary with a rectangular shape and a barrel connector, they are rated at 7.4V 2200MAH 16.2WH. I did have a problem with one battery, I contacted customer support and they quickly mailed a replacement — good service! Here are the Pros and Cons I find with the Savior Heated Glove: Pros: * Reasonably Priced * Well made and stylish * Fit well, are comfortable, and flexible. * Good heat settings for most days and uses Cons: * Power button can be easily turned on or off by accident * Need extra batteries for colder days * Wall wart charger instead of USB * No ‘touch screen’ capability I have pictured my glove collection below, as I said the Savior is my daily go to glove, but each has a purpose. I’ve also owned better heated gloves (each held two batteries), but they were three times the cost of the Savior and didn’t fit as well. From left to right: Head gloves — keep in work locker for casual use, Columbia gloves — springtime gloves for warmer days, Swany Leather Gloves — most comfortable, very well made, Free The Powder gloves — heavy powder days and very cold weather, Savior Heated Gloves — daily use, with and without heat. ... show more

  • This is a game changer!
Color: Black Size: Small
I live in Salt Lake City and cycle every day, even in winter. Female with 7" palm circumference (the sizing chart appears to have the #s under CM and Inches switched. So I went to CM and got a small. Perfect fit, but careful for anyone with long fingers. My middle finger from base to tip is about 3-1/4 inches and glove finger length is right there. Okay, so it has been hovering 25 degrees Fahrenheit the past few days in the early morning hours. Fingers painful when I tried even my lobster gloves. Ordered these on Amazon. And oh my gosh, this is a huge game changer. Each of my 1-hour legs, and I have no painful fingers. I have kept the heat on high (be sure to hold the button down for a bit to turn on, and be sure to charge the battery, it will go from red to green when charged). I can't live without these. I can't believe I have been biking for decades without these. I don't know how these will work in the teens or single digits, but I will be trying. I've only had these gloves for a few days, and I sure hope the battery lasts and the heaating mechanism in the gloves continue to work, but who cares. I'd just buy another one, every year if I have to! It's that much of a game changer. For every ride I get with these gloves w/o painful fingers, I count a huge bonus. The gloves themselves are VERY HIGH QUALITY, wait till you see the zipper for the battery pouch, excellent! And I can't feel the battery even when I lean down on my handlebars, and the gloves are not heavy. A little cumbersome for biking, BUT lobster gloves are worse, and they don't keep me warm. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE GLOVES. BEST PURCHASE I HAVE MADE FOR FOREVER! I'M BEING SERIOUS. I cannot even understand one negative review. This is truly a life changing event for me. I used to dread going out in the cold, not now, but I'm now looking for a heated insole or socks. Wow! Didn't know these were out there! I CAN'T TELL YOU ENOUGH HOW HAPPY I AM WITH THESE GLOVES. Seriously, give it a try. Hope my review has been helpful! Yahoo! ... show more
