Very nice armoire that perfectly fits everything that I was looking for, only knocking it one star because the oak rod that you hang clothes from was about 1/2" too short. The 7/8" rod would easily slip out of the hanging brackets when moved to the left or right. So I went to Lowe's and bought a replacement oak rod (got a 1" diameter so that it could support more weight than the 7/8") that I cut to the appropriate size and hung up. Now it's perfect, I just wish that the rod that it came with would've been cut to the correct length. ... show more

Make sure you have someone who can help you drag the box inside. This fits perfectly in the space I needed it to be in! We have a small house with not a lot of storage room and this helps bring it all together!

Having read all the reviews I expected the item to be damaged and it was ! Drawer was damaged in 3 places and the rail is too short. A pity because the item is actually very solid and heavy. It's just for our guest room so it's no big deal, but disappointing. I had given up looking for a suitable armoire at a decent price so will live with the damage. ... show more

We have had several Sauder items over the years, and all have been terrific high quality furniture. This definitely did not disappoint! The finish is VERY lovely - just the rustic touch we wanted, and the color matches the room perfectly. And their assembly directions are spot-on. As mentioned by others, it's very important to follow the directions exactly in order, and not "fudge". My best hints: 1- we started by taking about 20 disposable cereal bowls and labeling them with each stock number for all the screws, bolts and small hardware items involved. This helped a lot, by keeping everything organized. 2 - definitely plan ahead for a trip to your local big box hardware store to get a metal set of rod holders! The supplied set is thin flimsy plastic and the rod is about 3/4 inch short. But the metal ones for $5 provide a full inch of sturdy metal on each side to take up the slack (and we also added a small piece of stryofoam to shim up the rod once installed - works great! And 3 - toward the end of the project, we added a small extra square of 2x4 under the front and back inside corners of the legs, to enable us to add plastic carpet slides, so we can easily preposition the cabinet as needed. Result: perfection!!! We're thrilled with this cabinet, and are still in awe of how lovely, and sturdy it is! The delivery by Amazon was spot-on, right in the time window they promised. I noticed early on the hanging bar was going to be a problem, being too short. I finished the build, tried to reinforce the rod and well it failed. I'll have to go buy a bigger bar that fits. This should not be a step after my 4 hours of building this alone

YEA !!! Love this. It was a all day project but , I am very happy with it. I have a small house with zero closet space so I kept my dresses outside in a waterproof shed. I did not have any problems putting it together - everything lined up. It is a really nice looking cabinet - I have it in my living room and it does not look odd - just beautiful. The drawer was bigger then I thought it would be . Have my dresses in there now and have room for more. We all know what that means !!! Time for this girl to go SHOPPING !!! ... show more
