There was a crack on the underside of the desk top. We decided to keep it and hopefully it will not affect the use of the desk. We did not want to wait to send it back and get another one. It was time consuming to put together just like other desk of this nature. Several hours at least. Like the overall look of the desk.

So every screw/anchor in this desk uses wood glue!! Trust me it’s a headache in itself. 5 hours later I took a break from assembling the item to come back tomorrow with hopes it can be finished. I would say a 100 pieces to put this together. (Maybe more.) Only to get to the top to find the top piece don’t fit correctly with the other pieces and hoping I can find a way to make this work before I box it up and send it back!! I would not buy this item again. By far the hardest item I’ve ever had to assemble and when I say never again, I mean that “NEVER AGAIN!!” This item does arrive in one huge 115 lb box. Very heavy. Sturdiness idk yet I’ll update if I can make it work. Value for the money absolutely no. This product is just temporary to take my online proctored test until I can find the perfect product for me…. Update if I could get this pile of junk boxed up I’d return it in a instant. It’s not sturdy, broken wood pieces I had to glue back, gaps between the drawers you can stick your hands inbetween, and this is just a few of the major issues. If you’re considering a desk splurge the extra few hundred bucks and avoid this headache. I can’t box it back up or it’d be on a UPS truck back to amazon. Worst piece of furniture I have ever purchased and a complete waste of money!!!!

The desk is typical sauder quality, made with MDF board (not wood, what Amazon listed) and covered with faux cherry finish (a paper like material covered on top of MDF boards), It can get scratch easily and came with a few tiny scuffs and scratches, but if are careful moving the parts while assembling the desk you can avoid more. The table top has a nice finish, good storage options, come with electric extension cord - so overall its a nice computer desk for the space I have. Delivery service was not good, very poor, flimsy packaging, - Mine came with few damaged parts, including the side of the Top board, and yes, it's really heavy and delivery via UPS came with ripped box! Good thing, you can order the replacement parts directly from Amazon -> Order Details -> Get Support -> Sauder website link so I got the replacement parts in few days, and was happy with the overall support services. One of the reason I gave a lower ratings as it came with a really strong, horrible, absolutely horrible chemical smell, and it's not going away after 3+ weeks - I tried to keep my office room window open all nights for first few weeks but it's not going away. It will give you headache if you are sensitive to strong smell. I am wiping it with furniture cleaners and seems to work but not much. Sauder should use a different material, chemical to build the MDF and top coating, otherwise we all need to return them in few weeks.

First, this desk is meant to go against a wall because there is no “pretty” front. That being said, it’s a pretty nice desk. The company Sauder is great to work with. I had a piece pretty messed up so I went to their website and filled out a request for the part and it came within days. Keep in mind they’re affordable for a reason, but the last desk purchased from them lasted almost 10 years and my book shelves are still holding up great after 9 years. I’ll continue to purchase from them.

There was a LOT to this desk that I love. Putting it together was one of them. As I type, I find the comfort level compared to other cheaper desks I have used to be far superior in every way. While it was super easy to put together, after about 6 or 7 steps I pulled a piece from the box which had a big round dent in it. Not being discouraged, I hoped it would not be visible upon completion. While I rarely notice it, I still can see it if I look in the general area of the ding. That leads me to my next point, some of the pieces have a much better protective coating than others. I already have dings and chips in the finish on the front piece of trim, and I've used it for 3 days or so. I really did love the clever and fun instructions, the packing was genius and the hardware bag was awesome to use. A lot of pros here! I just wish that after all this effort I didn't have to consider what options I have to correct dings, blemishes and other issues with the particle board being soft in certain areas. Overall, sturdy, well built desk. Very comfortable. I was discouraged at the initial ding, and subsequent smaller damages being noticed after a few days use, but I think this will last a few years no problem. Matches my existing cherry trim quite well!

Good desk. Easy build... not too difficult to assemble. Takes a little while, but not too long. I used to have a hutch on my old desk. This desk is good, it works for what I want. I'm used to having the CPU on the left hand side, this has the drawers and CPU location switched... so that takes a little getting used to. I love that it includes an additional Power Strip to put in a storage location in the keyboard drawer. That's a nice touch. For charging cell phones or whatever. It has a couple "plastic pockets" on the sides of that storage location where the power strip is located... still trying to figure out what those are for... Fun unit. nice, quality build. Would recommend the desk to anyone. Took a while to be delivered, but that's because the delivery box was so heavy, I'm sure. Had to get my teenage boys to help me take it upstairs to my den/office.
