  • Needs maintenance ever year or so
Color: Craftsman Oak Finish
The media could not be loaded. This was an expensive learning experience for me, but i got 4 years out of it.. now I'm moving it near my wfh desk since I won't be moving it. So hopefully I'll get another 4+. Below is what I went through. For legit handyman advice, some other person commented with something similar. I'm just corroborating their story here my experience. So, here's what happened: 2019: purchase made, item received. I was new to the furniture game (this was my first difficult non-ikea piece). This took a few days to complete. The top was heavy and scary looking. Eventually I got it done, it wasn't perfect (there was one tiny gap toward the top left), but totally functional and I assumed that would be okay. WRONG. 2021: everything's gravy, I've moved it here and there for whatever reason. Then my buddy come over and puts his feet on the bottom right part and 💥‼️ it all falls to one side - BUT - the legs seemed fine. So I get some brackets and basically bandaid the bottom 2022: Right back leg comes clean off the top and entire unit falls in that direction. I check the damage and it becomes clear that either the design engineer sucks or, more likely, this company cut corners in a stupid way. I just fixed it and made a quick video showing what happened if you didn't want to read all this. Get some backup hardware to support the bottom and if you're handy - find a way to fasten the legs better. The leg hardware just isn't it. They won't support this beast. Tldr; there are cheaper options with less of a headache. It looks pretty dope though. ... show more

  • Excellent table and features and very easy to assemble
Color: Craftsman Oak Finish
My favourite piece. I ended up with this style (craftsman oak) because I couldn't find a coffee table in the salt oak online or locally and this was 'close enough' -but more importantly it has the lift-top I've been wanting and given the prices of these things generally, the price I got this for was totally worth it. The ONLY bad thing is, after having it set up and using it and looking at it assembled, I really like this look and feel way more than my other pieces, which are all the Sauder salt oak. WOOPS! Oh well, it is what it is, I love the salt oak but this style is even nicer! It feels and looks more natural, smooth but not shiny like the salt oak's laminate type covering. Assembly was super easy, easiest out of all the pieces I assembled this week (dresser, nightstand, headboard, tv stand) HOWEVER when it came to attach the lift top to the base, it was a challenge because I worked on it alone. 2 people obviously would be easier if people have steady hands, however I some pretty sturdy clamps with rubber grip handles on them so I clamped them to the base and used the handles to hold the lid steady while I got the screws and hinges in place -definitely use something with grip if you're going to prop/balance this because this surface is slippery despite its appearance and light texture. It probably added 10 minutes of fussing with it than it would have otherwise if I had thought to do this initially or bribed someone to come over -but sometimes that becomes a bigger hindrance than it's worth. One caution on this, okay two... 1 is, if you're working alone, get the finished base pretty much where you want the piece to sit and do the final assembly there, the piece has some weight to it and is cumbersome with that lift top. 2 is if you're going to have stuff on the table top and then lift it, that stuff better have some kind of grip or it's going to be one big slip n slide. Fortunately it was just a bottle of powerade that was closed when it launched off the table top when I went to test it. Also, there could be some additional horizontal braces to stiffen this up a bit. If you don't close / open it with your hands along the sides or evenly from the edge facing you, it's going to wobble and shimmy -I'm sure that may be a big reason this was $140ish and others I've seen are $400 plus- but for my needs, it will be fine and aesthetically, it looks awesome. It does tie well with my couch and the other pieces that are the salt oak instead of craftsman, and I'm very happy with it overall. Took about 2 hours to assemble. ... show more

  • It takes two to complete
Color: Craftsman Oak Finish
CON: I ordered this during Prime Days (10/14/20). Today is 11/5/20. That’s TWENTY days from order to arrival. 2 stars. PRO: In 45 minutes, I put everything together EXCEPT the installation of the raised top. And I only stopped because you really do need two people to do that part and I am only me. I will have a friend assist with the rest tomorrow. 4 stars, because I couldn’t finish myself. CON: As easy as this was to put together, it did take some critical thinking, as the directions aren’t always clear. Fortunately, I am expert at this stuff. 3 stars CON: expert that I am, I cannot figure out how to not have gaps between the pieces at one end (see pic). And attempting to fix it resulted in particle board cracks (see other pic). It’s not so bad that I’m gonna take it apart and return it (this is going in my private she-shed, not a more public part of my home) but still...3 stars I think it’s going to be just what I needed in this space; it looks like it’ll be just the right height for laptopping while sitting on my couch. I won’t know for sure til I get the top on. If only it hadn’t taken a month to get here and two calls to Amazon Customer Service (btw, 5 stars to Customer Service!) ... show more

  • Faulty Construction
I purchased this table on 03/29/2023 and overall I've been pretty happy with it. It is a sturdy table for the money and the lift top works well. However, yesterday I noticed that a piece of the table directly over the bottom left connecting bolt has broken off. In trying to repair it I noticed that the pre drilled holes for these connecting bolts were not drilled properly. This appears to have resulted in the connecting bolt being pushed up through the top of the bottom shelf and causing this breakage. I have own this table just under 6 months. The quality of the construction is poor and I would not recommend this purchase. ... show more
