  • A Lot of Patience Required But It's Worth It!
I bought 2 of these, so hopefully I could share some helpful insights, lessons learned: 1) Inspect your package meticulously when it arrives. My 2nd package arrived with parts of the table scathed, as you can see. Very discouraging and exasperating, but such a hassle to return! 2) Read the instructions manual VERY carefully (don't get cocky). I assembled the first table with not a whole lot of halu-balu, but ended up with 4 silver screws unused (Missed details of Step 8!). Of course that table ended up NOT being THAT sturdy, and it's incredibly cumbersome to dismantle and reorganize to put everything together again. Will need a Gorilla Glue or something to make sure all the table parts are secured to each other... 3) I strongly recommend putting a blanket/towel or a large thick cloth on the floor where you would assemble the table. Parts are made up of particle board (it looks like) and quite easy to get dinged, scratched or broken altogether. 4) The first few steps of the assembly are easy to follow. But just as you've gained full confidence, a challenge will rise up! Not all the parts match up evenly, the screw holes don't jive, the cut of the wood is imperfect, etc. If you are assembling the table all by yourself, DON'T HESITATE TO TAKE A BREAK/BREATHER before you do Steps 9-11. Walk away, drink a glass of wine, watch a 30-minute rerun on TV. I promise you, it will save you from pulling your hair out and breaking pieces altogether. 5) Once assembled, wipe everything with a wood cleaner/polish wipes/Pledge. The table looks great when polished/cleaned. All in all, the table does the job. I would happily recommend it. ... show more

  • Very difficult to put together...
I ordered two of these because one went to the wrong address (my fault) - but had I known what I was getting into on assembly, I would have looked for something different. It’s important to note that I am a small girl, however I have been assembling my own furniture for 10+ years and have never had this much trouble getting something together. Right off I had to have my 200 pd male roommate push the E slats down - as the grooves were so tight using my entire body weight I could only get them halfway down. It took my roommates full body weight and some heavy hits with the hammer to get the E slats to finally slide into place. I am now attempting to attach the legs to the table top and the metal screws do not match up once you match up the wooden dowels on the other side and I simply am not strong enough to push against the dowels to get the screws in place. Wood glue is used a lot - so in this situation, again I am having to wait on my roommate to help. Hopefully, he can get the screws lined up before the wood glue dries and I really have a mess on my hands. As a self sufficient female, who finds a way to tackle most any project - this one one will definitely suck the wind right out of your sails. I’ve never met assembly furniture that I couldn’t get together and I’ve even built some simple furniture myself. Yet here I sit with a half assembled table waiting for help. That said, I do imagine if I ever get this thing together, it will be very sturdy. I was very impressed by the weight and structure. Just good luck getting it together. It’s extremely time consuming and very frustrating. ... show more

  • Disappointed
This sums it up ~ NEVER AGAIN ! The alignments are off on some areas . I’m very good with cam locks and putting things together but this was way off ... the cam dowels were off the holes while the wooden dowels would be fine . I like the look but once I figure out how to fix this or trash it I’m getting a new one . UPDATE :: Since I like the look and put it together already .( this table is heavy and I did it myself ) I came up with fixing it ... I removed the cam dowels for the legs , leaving the cam locks with plugs to prevent an open hole . I secured the legs with 2 inch screws for wood & dry wall screws . I seriously think this table would’ve been must better and easier using ALL SCREWS for the legs and table top connection...minus the cam dowels/locks ! UPDATE : ok after all the issues with the misaligned holes and screws . I secured the table and like it so far . Don’t get me wrong it’s a nice heavy table just mine had holes that didn’t line up with the cam dowels . I bought two counter height stools from amazon and it’s working for now ... UPS DELIVERY however ding the far right edge of the table in shipping , a small bruise but if left that way eventually the edge will peel away so I’m going to find some putty the same color and fix it ... I really like this table but it’s been a lot of work for me , yet I didn’t give up on it lol ... show more

  • Nice modern rustic looking table. Sturdy and heavy.
This is the third table I have bought online and I finaly found a winner. I am an obsessive review reader and was a little worried by the reviews because the consensus was that this table is extremely difficult to assemble but being the eternal optimist, I took a chance. I'm a 51 year old woman and I put it together alone, as I have all my DIY furniture. It was a little time consuming but the instructions were very clear, just take the time to read them carefully and dont skip any steps. Also, instructions said to not use a drill, the heck with that! I have a nice drill that has a torque setting and it worked perfectly and cant over tighten or damage because it has a torque setting. I started the screws with screwdriver just to make sure they were lined up correctly. Use the glue as instructed. The last steps, attaching the leg assembly's to the table and the long brace, are a bit tricky, especially alone. With patience and a little ingenuity you can get it done. Gave 4 instead of 5 stars because table top had small shipping damage, thankfully on the underside so no one can see it. Has a nice rustic look and looks fantastic with industrial metal stools. In summation, if u can follow written instructions and have a couple hours then I highly recommend this table. ... show more
