My iMac lives on this thing. It's solid as a rock and hides my CalDigit Thunderbolt 4 Element Hub beneath it. It provides just enough lift to get my iMac to a comfortable viewing height. The front facing USB-A ports are perfect for my various mouse dongles, keeping them unobstructed and in close range of my gaming mice. The only knock I have for this stand is that the ports are a gen or two old...USB-A and C are only 3.0/5Gbps and the SD card reader is UHS-I. For the money, I would have expected 3.2/10Gbps and UHS-II. As I already have a boss Thunderbolt 4 hub and UHS-II reader built into my iMac, I'm not reliant on the stand for those ports. But if I were, I might have docked this stand a star. Anyway, highly recommended nonetheless.

Update, I exchanged the first unit and the second one works fine. Looks great and would be perfect if I could actually plug anything into it. USB and USB-C are virtually impossible to plug into. Sadly, I’m going to have to return it.

I considered many different monitor stands and the Satechi won out because: - it was EXTREMELY sturdy with absolutely no bowing from the weight of my iMac - it raises it just enough without being too high - it does not take up too much desk space - it has replaced the standalone hub I was using which did not always work - it totally matches my iMac and looks great Definitely happy with my purchase.

Solved two issues with one item. I have a new M2 MBAir in a stand behind the Apple Studio Monitor which is a nice setup with the monitor connected by one subculture cable for picture and power. But my desk is a good height for typing but a bit low for the monitor. I also wanted a few more ports. The photo doesn’t show ports very well but they are there right where I want them up front. And my monitor is just a nice bit higher. It is very solidly built and no issue with the monitors weight on top.

Finally took the big step up to an iMac form my old MBP! Awesome. Only thing is Im a photographer so my life is SD cards and that meant some kind of hub. I looked at a ton of dongles and hubs and all of them were some kind of compromise. Almost all of them were going to require two hands to keep them from moving and/or scratching your iMac. Alternately you could pay stupid money for a large hub that would have a ton of things I didnt need like HDMI and ethernet while cluttering up your desk. The Satechi is the perfect combination of a stand and a hub. I give up one thunderbolt port on the back and gain 4 USB ports and a card reader. The weight of the iMac and the excellent rubber feet keep everything grounded when taking SD cards in and out. I really like that the SD mechanism is the "click in, click out" type instead of "in to stop, hard pull out". If you have an iMac and use SD cards, this is what you want.
