This bluetooth remote does work with the ipad. It is clunky, and missing some super obvious features, like a back button or an app switcher to get back to an app after accidentally hitting the home button, but does work ok for hitting play/pause and left/right when playing video, which is what I wanted it for. Ironically I need to have it switched to (P) Presentation mode, and not (M) Media mode to get it to work properly, but as long as it works I am happy enough.

This is the 5th Bluetooth remote I bought from Satechi (from version-1 I guess to date R2 version in 2021). I'm extremely happy with Satechi products so far (baring few improvements suggested here) Now coming to review of R2 Satechi Bluetooth Remote Control: Pros: 1. Overall quality of the material & product is awesome + it is very sturdy remote. 2. Technical support is always great and so is the warranty by Satechi. 3. Buttons on the remote have been redesigned and are very functional and handy. Cons (I would rather term this as improvements needed) 1. USB-C charger cable length is extremely small and should be at minimum 3-6 ft. 2. No charger provided in the package and the assumption by Satechi is that you will have the charger for a C-type cable. 3. It only connects to 1 device at a time and that is why I have multiple remotes since I bought the first one in 2007-2008. 4. Presenter doesn't work on LED, OLED TVs. 5. Cost $$ is slighter on the higher side but quality comes at a price. So I can live with it. 6. Slightly on the higher side with weight but acceptable due to its sturdiness. I got this strictly to use as a remote control when streaming movies on Amazon, HBO Max, etc. Using an HDMI cable I can transfer the picture from my computer to my large screen TV, which I watch from the couch. That is why I wanted a remote - so I wouldn't have to get up and walk over to the computer every time I wanted to pause, rewind or whatever. Now here's the strange part....the remote worked just fine except for one thing - it wouldn't rewind while watching Amazon Prime. But WOULD REWIND WHEN I WATCHED ANYTHING ELSE... music videos, home videos, any other streaming service. But when watching Amazon it wouldn't rewind. Even weirder is that the fast-forward, stop, play and pause functions all worked fine when watching Amazon. I figured this was just some kind of fluke, so I exchanged the remote for the same model. And surprise surprise... the same exact thing happened with the second one... EVERYTHING WORKED EXCEPT THE REWIND FUNCTION WHEN WATCHING AMAZON!!! I wrote Satechi and they agreed that this was quite weird and didn't quite know what to make of it. They suggested that the Amazon app may not work with 3rd party remotes. But if that were true than why would it work with all the other functions and just not work for the rewind function??? Pretty odd. Does anyone think they have a plausible explanation? Meanwhile, I have returned it and will try another brand and see what happens.....

Really didn't want to spend this much on a remote to control my iphone. But am happy that I did. Tried all kinds of bluetooth devices to control the sound or stop a video to answer a call. None would stay connected or worked properly. This one is constantly connected. Was easy to figure out without reading the instructions.

This remote is exactly what I was looking for to control my 2020 iPad Pro from my chair. I stream music via Qobuz or Apple Music in my 2-channel set-up and needed a way to select playlists, skip tracks, etc. from across the room ... this remote works perfectly. There is more functionality than I need, so haven't used all of its capabilities, yet, but it checks all of the blocks I needed. Super easy to pair via bluetooth ... zero issues. Highly recommended.
