I love the mixed metal & wood elements of the shelves. The wood is a more neutral than my photo makes them look. They edges could have been sanded & finished a little more, but it kinda adds to the modern/rustic look I guess. The corners of the metal framing could be more precisely put together as well, but its not noticeable unless you're really examining up close. They are relatively easy to assemble & hang. I used my own sturdy drywall screws to hang them instead of the included hardware because I knew I would be putting plants on the shelf & they are hung in a high traffic area. Immediately when I saw these cute floating shelves I was invested. Loved the rustic look of these two floating shelves. The "black frame" which is metal and the wood shelf front in the center is made with fine grade wood. These are effortless in the installation realm. Had no issues whatsoever. Pretty clear cut instructions. What I was looking for was shelves that are able to hold a decent amount of weight. These fit that bill. The shelves can hold up to 110 pounds respectively. These are really fantastic and have added warmth to our dining room. Some of the specs that helped to influence my decision on these floating shelves are as follows: Interestingly enough these weigh only 5 lbs, yet can hold up to 110 pounds. When I ordered these I had 2 hesitations, that the metal part would look cheap and have sharp edges/poor workmanship and that the wood would also look cheap and need staining or sanding based on other "wood" shelves I've ordered on amazon. None of those fears came true. The metal is solid, well painted, well cut and well built. No sharp edges, no cheap looking or feeling. The wood pieces are better than other "wood" pieces/shelves I've bought before. Other purchases feel super lightweight like balsa wood and the color is never right and not close to the listing pictures. Here the color does match and they have a nice texture. You can still tell it's not high quiality/expensive wood, but they don't look tacky. I will still stain them, because I desire a different color, but not because they look bad. This shelves are good quality! The weight capacity is high and they are very stable. The appearance is simple, yet beautiful. I love the black metal and real wooden shelves. The installation was very easy! The size of these are perfect: they are not too small nor too big.

I love the way the metal and wood work together to creat such a unique aesthetic with these shelves. It still gives the industrial vibe I tend to gravitate toward, but the wood adds so much warmth!
