  • Sturdy and easy to assemble
Color: Black
The shelves are MDF inside, with a nice smooth black plastic veneer on top and sides. Underside of shelves is a bit rough but painted black. They seem very solid and are rated to support more weight than similar stands I looked at. As others have mentioned, assembly is easy, just thread supplied pins into the threaded ends of the large silver tubes and sandwich each shelf layer between tubes ends. A great feature is that one can easily leave out one or both of the middle shelves to make a shorter stand to allow for a taller equipment stack on top. ... show more

  • Better Than Expected. Quick to Assemble & Sturdy
Color: Black
So glad I opted for this stand. It only took 10 minutes to assemble. The vertical posts are sturdy tubular metal threaded at each end. You can tighten the tubes by hand as much as you want. The supplied Allen key is only needed for the top 4 bolts. This thing is solid as a rock. The base feet are adjustable for levelling purposes. A super purchase! ... show more

  • Very capable and attractive audio rack!
Color: Black
The audio stand is very capable of handling real world weights of upper end audio/HT equipment. I have had some HT receivers that were over 40lbs, that those wimpy glass audio stands can't support. The spacing between shelves is also good for each shelf! This allows component stacking where 2 or 3 components can be on each shelf. This of course, requires a decent weight rating to handle 3 components that those glass shelves can not. The rack is deep enough and wide enough to handle higher end equipment. The audio rack is very sturdy and heavier, while not excessively heavy. The rack is very attractive to match my TV stand BUT it would had been nice if the legs were NOT silver and instead Black. Unfortunately this style of rack wasn't available with black legs. The silver is OK matching the chrome legs of the audio equipment but would had matched the TV stand better if the legs were black. I looked at the Mount It Rack which I loved the look and it matched my glass TV stand and glass Mount It bookshelf speaker stands, but the Mount It audio rack was just too weak for anything other than cheaper, lighter gear, plus the shelf spacings were to short which limited the shelf to only one component. The Sanus shelves like I said can fit 2 to 3 components. I have had Sanus speaker stands in the past and they were high quality like this audio rack. The only negative besides the silver legs is that the price is a a bit higher than I think it should be. It does use wood shelves which are cheaper than glass and there's nothing exotic about the legs. It's a good design and why I bought it obviously but price should had been about $20 to $30 cheaper. I paid $160. **EDIT** I have to modify my review from 5 stars to 3 stars as this cabinet is discontinued but Amazon page says this is not discontinued. I found a flaw on the top shelf I guess I'll have to live with even though this cabinet was a bit over priced as it is. The reason is that SANUS will not provide parts under warranty for this cabinet as it's discontinued and the only option is to return this cabinet. BEWARE ... show more

  • Best Bang For The Buck In Decent Looking Simple A/V Shelf I've Found
Color: Black
This audio stand isn't the end-all be-all and it's not intended to be I'm sure. What it is, though, is a very good one at an extremely reasonable price. The finish on the shelves is smooth and evenly applied being slightly more polished than matte which is to say not a piano grade type. The sturdiness of the MDF used is, apparently, of the high-density type and it easily supports 50-lb. plus items such as my power amplifier on bottom and a Pioneer 10.5" heavy reel to reel unit on top with not a hint of sagging or bowing. I truly like the easily installed, and stylish, metallic support posts that screw in between shelves. When installed properly they join together the unit in a manner as to make it quite solid. It's easy to spend more to get a more dramatic looking a/v shelving system, possibly, with some bells and whistles such as cable management. What isn't easy to do is find a better or sturdier solution which looks this good at such a reasonable price. I really find this to be a great audio-gear shelving solution and I'm probably going to buy one, maybe two, more as I'm very pleased to get the sturdy quality with decent looks of this unit at a tremendously reasonable price. My Amazon Prime membership was an added bonus to get a heavy item delivered to my door super quick for no additional cost. Highly recommended if you don't have to have the absolute heaviest or fanciest A/V shelving solution. ... show more

  • Fast assembly and nice looking result
Color: Black
This wasn't purchased for audio but for a printer(s), paper and other PC ancillary devices. It would make a very decent audio rack. The instructions were clear, in English, and took maybe 30 - 45 minutes to assemble. I would suggest that beyond the sub-assemblies of the legs and supports, the final assembly should be done where the rack is going to be setting. It is quite sturdy, has some weight to it and why move that when it can be done in place. Bought another one for an additional monitor, assembly time was 30 minutes. It arrived on December 18 and the box had received some rough handling but the contents were undamaged. Only tool required was the Allen wrench that came with the hardware. Nice product. It comes with a Sanus sticker and I haven't found a picture of this stand with one attached. Nice looking piece of audio furniture with high load capacity, lots of air flow and is now currently unavailable. ... show more
