I bought this gadget for my son who owns an old jalopy with an antique radio that has a cassette and CD players and AUX port -- no screen, no CarPlay, no Bluetooth, we're talking dark ages here. Replacing the head unit in this old car didn't make much sense, but adding wireless CarPlay for less than $130 was an interesting proposition. To my surprise... It's fantastic! First, the display: bright and crisp, the resolution and the wide format are perfect. The screen is wide and not tall, so it does not obstruct the view. The touch screen is responsive. And, Connectivity options are great, in and out: you can connect iPhones and Android phones wirelessly for CarPlay and Android Auto; and send audio out via AUX line (provided) or a built-in FM radio transmitter. There are built-in speakers. The back of the unit features a dashcam that automatically records the view from your windshield; you can also connect an optional backup camera. Connecting the iPhone was exactly as you would on a car with built-in Wireless CarPlay: pair with Bluetooth, tap "Use CarPlay" and you're all set, every time you start the car your phone will connect automatically without even having to take it out of your pocket. I just got this 10.26-inch Car Stereo and I'm super impressed. It's like a mini tech upgrade for my car. Here's what I think of it: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are super easy to use. It's a piece of cake connecting my phone and having all my favorite apps right on the car's screen - a real life saver for maps and music. The 10.26-inch touchscreen display is a huge plus. It's super clear and responsive, making it super convenient to use, especially for Google Maps or Spotify. Installation was surprisingly simple. I expected to need help, but it was pretty straightforward. The suction cup mount and brackets made it easy to install on either the dashboard or the windshield. The sound options are great. You can connect to the car's speakers through FM transmitter, AUX, or Bluetooth. I personally prefer the Bluetooth connection for its better sound quality. The HD rear-view camera with night vision has made parking and reversing way safer and easier. This stereo is perfect for anyone looking to add a modern touch to their car, especially if it's an older model. This stereo has definitely made my driving experience more enjoyable.     • Pretty nice unit, but not really intuitive to install
I got this for my husband’s 16 year old van. I have a newer car with CarPlay, and I love it. I thought he’d like it, too. However, he is old school and doesn’t want it. So, he wouldn’t install it. I finally got my son to install it because I’m seldom in the car, and when I am, I’m often driving to take my son somewhere for his activities. My son got it working 3 different times, and he said it’s not very intuitive as he doesn’t get the same screen from when it worked first. Then, it doesn’t seem to automatically reconnect once he’s back in the car. If someone else wants to connect their phone, it needs to disconnect the previous profile, and it takes a lot of adjusting to get it connected to the new person’s profile. We’re still not quite sure if it connects via Bluetooth or its own wifi because when it works, neither seems to be connected. However, once my son does get it set up, it works great! The dashcam shows a wide landscape view. The video is clear, and the sound is great! CarPlay works pretty similarly to the one in my car, but my car has it built in. For now, we keep it in the center console, therefore not really able to use the dashcam because my husband said it’s too large a display, blocks too much of his view, and if mounted, it’d be too far away, and he often skips music. So, it’d likely cause an accident. Obviously, he doesn’t like it, but whenever I drive his van, I really like it. ... show more

    • Modernized my 10 year old car
I am overjoyed with this SANPTENT Car Screen device! Owning a car from 10 year ago has its limitations, one of which is the absence of an infotainment system. This car stereo works wonders in integrating Android Auto and modernizing my driving experience. In just a few minutes, I was able to set it up, connect my phone, enable Bluetooth audio to my car stereo, and also test the DVR features. And the other surprise to me is the sound quality!
