I'll start off with why it is not five-star... the round cube trays do not produce a clean end-product, nor are they easy to extract. There is a lot of leftover water in the tray and so when you discharge the cubes, the broken shards end up in the ice box as well, which I do not like because they melt and dilute your drink. Solution - I only use the trays for square cubes and I am very satisfied!! The trays make very nice, consistent and dense cubes. The trays are a hard plastic, and so I did worry a bit at first about cracking them if I flexed them too hard to extract the cubes, but they've been fine. I do appreciate that they are sturdy plastic, not the pliable ones that spill all over when I try to move them from the sink to the freezer! The ice bin is a good size and holds at least 6 trays worth of cubes; so even though everything seems "small" it has actually turned out to be plenty enough ice for our use - and once the cubes are in the box, the trays can be stored. An added benefit is, because of the smaller size of the cubes, they don't take as long to freeze and so it doesn't take multiple days just to fill up the box. These ae probably good if you just want plain small round ice cubes. I thought they were bigger and when I put a small cranberry in the tray and filled with water, all I got when I opened it was a frozen cranberry.

The Samuelworld Ice trays comes as a set of four (4) with six (6) total pieces in the set. The set includes a storage bin which keeps the ice fresh and free of refrigerator smell and taste that you get with automatic ice makers, a scooper to scoop the ice out of the bin, and 4 (four) trays (2 round mold trays & 2 square ice mold trays). Being compact in size and space but big enough to contain all four (4) ice trays at one time, we gained freezer space allowing more food and other freezer items to be stored. While creating a total of 112 pieces of ice at a time between the four trays (48 cubes of square ice between 2 trays & 62 cubes of round ice between 2 trays), makes this set ideal for families of 4 or more as well as being convenient for social events or gatherings at the house. Because of the amount of ice these trays produce in two different shapes, allows for one to create their ideal beverage with a choice of ice fitting for that specified beverage. For example, when we had a gathering a few weeks ago, those that chose to partake in an adult beverage of a cocktail or mixed drink chose the round cubes while those that chose not to drink preferred the regular square cubes for their cold drinks, juices, and water. What I particularly like about these trays is that unlike the traditional silicon filler trays, the ice in these trays rarely crack, shatter, or even break apart when attempting to release the cubes because these trays are made of an anti-food grade material. Because the material from which the ice trays are made doesn’t allow the ice to become freezer burned or frosted, makes the releasing of the cubes much easier. Doesn't have a plastic chemical smell which is good but everything else isn't. The lids corner lip to lift the lid broke off when I was trying to open the lid, no force was use, just broke off. The means the plastic is very brittle. The trays are hard plastic and when trying to empty the ice, the tray cracked. Looks nice but wrong type of plastic use for this purpose. ... show more

As stated in the description, this product comes with a bin and lid containing both cube and ball ice trays. I ordered this for my daughter who doesn't have an ice maker, but loves "good ice."
