Having already owned the Samsung HD Pro SmartCam and the Samsung SNH-E6440BMR outdoor cams, I was really interested in purchasing the latest Samsung SmartCam with pan and tilt features. First I’d like to say that the new SNH-V6410PN is a lot smaller than I expected. The dimensions listed may be the shipping box size, but the camera itself (minus the power adaptor) is roughly softball size. Since I already own other Samsung SmartCams, the setup was exactly the same for this camera, and including downloading the latest firmware, I had the camera online in about 10 minutes. The SNH-V6410PN camera has 1080p video and using the Samsung app, there are 3 video resolutions available. I am unsure as to the exact specs of the “medium” and “low” video settings, but it is really hard to tell the difference on an iPhone. There is a zoom feature, but it is a digital zoom, as the camera has a fixed lens. It also has night vision capability which works very well, as long as you don’t have anything reflective/and or close by that can reflect the infrared light back at the lens. The pan/tilt features work very easy and smoothly. Like most pan/tilt cameras, it can only pan 350 degrees and not all the way around. As far as tilting, with the base of the SNH-V6410PN sitting level, the camera can’t tilt directly up, but it is very close to up. Tilting down is a little bit more limited, as it can only tilt down at a “5 o clock” position. The camera has the option for you to program a “home” position” and several other preset positions so you can quickly tap a button to move it to a particular location for viewing. The listening audio mic works fairly well, but the speaker built into the camera for 2 way audio is a bit soft. You would think the speaker technology used on their smart phones would have found their way over to the camera department, but not so in this case. Some of the new features of this camera are the motion tracking option, which actually works creepily well. It will follow any motion and automatically pan and tilt accordingly without any user interaction. There is also a built in scheduler that allows you to set blocks of time throughout a 7 day week for “privacy” so the camera will basically point in the downward position and stop transmitting video/audio during those times. Like other Samsung Smart Cams, you have the ability to set motion detection alerts (with zones you can set), and with this camera, you can set audio detections alerts as well. I will say that the motion detection works very well, and the audio detection works a little too well. You do have sensitivity controls over both, but I wish the audio portion would allow you to turn the sensitivity down a little more than what is available, as I am dealing with false audio alarms with the camera picking up seemly low sounds from my fridge The SNH-V6410PN now has cloud storage, which I really cant speak to at this time since I haven’t used it. The camera also has the SD card slot (128gb max) for recording locally I basically purchased this camera to monitor the inside of my house while I am away to keep an eye on the pets and also after a false alarm alert from my Nest Smoke Detector (that’s for another review) this camera does the job for the most part. There are some things I do like and don’t however, which I’ll list below. Pros: Very good picture, even in low light Easy to control Ability to schedule Private time and shut the camera off Several Customizable Presets for viewing different locations Local and cloud recording options Cons: 2.4ghz wifi only. It’s hard to believe that in 2016, companies are still rolling out wifi products that don’t have 5ghz wifi capability but that is the case with the SNH-V6410PN No Ethernet port. If you want to connect this to your LAN via Cat5, you are out of luck No SD card included. This is the only Samsung SmartCam model I have bought that didn’t come with a SD card. * Hopefully the next few issues can be fixed via firmware/software updates: When coming out of “Private time” and if you have motion detection enabled, you get a motion alert because of the camera moving from the “private” position to your preset position Motion tracking mode does not work with Motion zones enabled Audio sensitivity option doesn’t go all the way down, seems to stop at the ¼ mark

I purchased the cameras as I searched on Amazon for cameras compatible with Samsung Smartthing. These came up in the search. I purchase 2 of them and set them up (which is quite easy) but couldn't get them to appear in my Smartthing app. I couldn't find it anywhere. I contacted Samsung and am disappointed these are not "officially" Samsung. It's a different division and they are not supported by Samsung. I find this VERY deceptive by both Samsung and Amazon. The cameras work and have a good picture.. but will not ever be compatible with Smartthing as it's not made nor supported by Samsung. Not sure if I will be keeping these. BEWARE

Update: 4-26-17 Recorded audio is sometimes choppy solution is to reset device or toggle sleep mode. Auto tracking is pretty poor letting people walk out of screen sometimes, even when walking slow. THERE IS NO CLOUD RECORDING SERVICE FOR THIS DEVICE, contrary to many other reviews claiming there is. SO anyone can just walk up to your camera and take it and you will never know unless you just happened to be watching it and recording to your phone, which is highly unlikely. Amazed at how small it is. Works as advertised. Still think its a gimmick to have a "tracking" rotating camera head, but compared to other widelense cameras that even cost much more money, but I guess makes sense if you really do need a 360 view, the other features of this camera make it worth it though. Motion sensor could go a little further in the dark, you basically have to walk within 10 feet, detects further in bright area. Camera live view is decent in the dark though, but even better in bright area. 1080p from 4g looks good. Detection is very good, unlike some other cameras which seem to be hit or miss with motion detection, this camera has great detection, including audio detection! which most others don't have, and both are adjustable sensitivity. Sleep privacy scheduler!, Encrypted video option, motion zones, and many other features... Its got all the bells and whistles for so cheap. Also has two apps for it if you want extra notifications lol. One has a modernized gui. But I like the original app much better. Also whats great about this is the sd memory card slot and no need to for a cloud subscription like most other devices. Thats what really sold me on it. And it really does work good. Very happy with the purchase so far, now we shall see if it lasts...

Camera was great at first, however, on the 11 month before the warranty would end the Samsung camera started to act up. The camera was acting like it was possessed. It was moving on it's own. I sent it over to Samsung to get it fix and supposedly the camera was fix. However, a month later the camera started to have connection issues to my router. Works about a few days until I have to reset it again. My camera is out of warranty and it will cost to much to get it fix. It's best for me to just buy a different brand of camera.

Great picture quality. Great Audio. I'm a tech type person and it is clumsy linking it to the wifi....takes several tries and it doesn't go as the manual planned it to. That said, with some patience it's a very nice camera. Tilts and pans with no isssues. This is my second one. Very pleased after owning the first one for several months and felt comfortable getting another.
