the small sub sounds good, the enclosure isn't the greatest quality but gets down low and stays clear even at high volume, the sound bar isn't really directional but it sounds good and it looks really great. the Bluetooth function has underlying noise, could be interference from my end but I didn't have anything in the room that could cause interference besides power cables that came with it ... show more

I bought a top of the line Samsung soundbar with bluetooth speakers years ago because it was suppose to improve voice clarity on the TV. I was never happy with it but paid a high price for it and thought the lack of clarity was something we had to live with. My wife and I have been reading subtitles now for years. One night my wife out of frustration and disgust said with all my research skills, surly I could find a better speaker than this one. That sounded like a challenge and I went to the internet and started my research. There were several brands that were "Top rated" for sound but I was looking for one that improved the speech so it could be understood. After days of looking at reviews I was drawn back to the new SAMSUNG HW-Q990C, because of its voice quality. It was about the same price as the older soundbar I have but I figured over the years they must have improved its voice clarity, Besides I figured if it didn't then I'd return it and live with the old one. It was a snap to set up since all of the cords were the same and it even connected to the external speakers automatically. When I turned it on WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! This soundbar is such an improvement! The remote bottoms are easy to program the speaker even calls out when I hit them whether voice recognition and voice clarity buttons are on or off. It's such a difference that we no longer even have to read through a movie like in the "old days". Even my wife (who is not easy to please) comments on the voice clarity. I’ve listened to a number of soundbars having mostly used LG’s top of the line until recently and the Samsung 990C is significant in its quality, range and loudness. Anything played in Dolby Atmos sounds astonishing. The clarity and precision of the sound was immediately noticeable to me it felt like I had a giant wall of speakers around me and that sounds were really moving through the air. The bass is full and rich too I have noticed how loud it can go without sounding too ‘booming’. Overall I can’t think of a better soundbar on the market at the moment, even non-Atmos content sounds better on this compared to my old LG Soundbar. Only thing to keep in mind in the subwoofer is big and heavy (as it should be) and the soundbar itself is surprisingly long and tall, it actually clips off some of the bottom image of my TV so I might need to raise my TV up a bit. I thoroughly recommend getting this though and feel it is well worth the money. ... show more

Bought this for the living room since my wife was tired of having big speakers everywhere. Obv it does not sound as good as the previous 7.1 setup, but it does sound great. We have a Samsung TV. The TV recognized the speaker and the existing TV remote worked with the speaker. I'm not sure if it's due to eARC or the fact that they're both Samsung brands. Regardless, this is a big improvement over using TV speakers. Love the compact size of the wireless subwoofer too and it thumps more than enough for our casual living room TV viewing. ... show more
