I bought this phone(samsung fold 5) at the end of April and was really impressed by the quality and condition of the phone given the price. This was my first "renewed" phone purchase from Amazon so I was taking a gamble I guess. The phone worked flawlessly for about 3 months until Thursday August 1st. I was on my lunch break using my phone reading and then went back inside to start work again. When I got back to my work station I opened the phone to check a notification and immediately noticed the inner large screen had split at the crease. I was in disbelief because I had done nothing to make this happen and there were no warning signs. The phone had never been dropped or mishandled and my old fold 2 had never done this despite being used for 3 years. The screen protector on top of the folding screen is still in perfect condition aside from air pockets that formed where the screen split. Upon further research online it appears that samsung has had some issues with this happening on their fold phones. The inner screen can just split in half. It's not clear to me yet how this phone was refurbished so I don't know if the inner screen is defective from samsung or the reseller. Amazon "A to Z guarantee" is no help because Iam about a week past the 90 day warranty from them. The seller or Amazon has told me to contact samsung about warranty work but it is not clear if it will be covered because Iam not sure if the seller is a samsung certified reseller. If I had to do it over I would pay retail for a new phone because as of right now I appear to have just thrown nearly $1000 out the window. ... show more

My headline says it all. It is impossible to tell this premium renewed from brand new, except for the generic packaging. It also came with a charger and the OTG (on the go) cable for transferring data from my old phone to the Fold 5. BTW the T-Mobile SIM card from my previous phone worked in the Fold 5, however I see that I could have done an eSIM. The screen is huge and beautiful. Performance is stellar. Phones are fun again! How much do I like this phone, so much that I ordered the same for my wife after trying out my Fold 5. Same seller. I doubt there is a better endorsement that that. ... show more

    • An almost PERFECT purchase!!
On May 2 2024, my Pre-owned Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 was delivered. There was no visible damage to the box or the contents inside the box. The Fold 5 arrived in about 2 days, which I am very pleased about. Even though the device itself is pre-owned, I would like to note the fact that there are NO visible scratches, dings, scrapes or anything…it looks brand-new to be pre-owned 5/5. Since my Fold 5 was delivered, I charged it and added it to my Tmobile plan since it was supposed to be Factory Unlocked and to that end, it was successful; it worked! I bought a case for it and an S-pen ahead of time, a little prior to the arrival of the Fold 5. Up to this point everything was perfect and everything was working as expected and as per the original order/ad. However, as of today, May 15th 2024, when I attempted to charge my Fold 5 I found that it didn’t charge. I started initially to flip out because I was worried that the phone I thought was perfect was actually defective. Moments later, I was almost ready to request a refund due to the phone (Fold 5) not charging properly. At a moment’s notice, I decided to change the charging wire for another one I had at my house and it still wouldn’t charge. Then, I decided to change the power brick and bingo… it started to charge! I said all this to say.. the Fold 5 is perfect and nothing is wrong with it other than the Power brick (Anker 15W) that came with it, is defective or is not charging properly for some reason. Outside of this mishap, I would have given this review a 5/5 or 5 out of 5, but because of the power brick/charger.. I am giving this review a 4/5 or 4 out of 5. Additionally, I am going to email/inbox the sender a copy of this review and I intend to ask them for another power brick/charger and an additional 13 days added back to the warranty, as that’s the difference in time between May 2 when it was delivered and today’s date, May 15. Those without a Z Fold 5 can't understand what they are missing. I am at awe with this amazing phone/tablet! Large viewing screen (when you need it), lots of storage space and a lot of RAM to make everything run smooth. My wife was so happy with the purchase, that I bought one for myself! my son just opened this as a Christmas gift, and as soon as he opened the fold he noticed a huge mass of dead pixels the phone screen on the outside was deeply scratched out of the box as well with a major dent on the back of the crease. This is NOT refurbished clearly. as soon as he noticed the dead pixels he took out his sim card during phone setup so that we could return it. it was clearly unlocked properly but the phone itself was broken upon arrival. ... show more
