I recently bought this Z Flip 6 and noticed it was stuck on an old version of Android 14 and One UI (6.1.1) and wouldn't update, even though One UI 8 / Android 16 is already out. If you buy this phone used/renewed from this seller, check your "Service provider software version" in Settings->About Phone->Software Info. If you see a mismatch (like mine showed XAA software but VZW hardware) and you are on a carrier like Mint Mobile, your phone might be "orphaned" from updates. The phone thinks it's one thing, but the update servers see another, so it just says "Up to Date" when it isn't. To fix it, I had to use a PC and a tool called Odin to manually flash the official Samsung Unlocked (U1) firmware. Once I did that, the phone updated and immediately recognized the latest 2026 updates. If you aren't tech-savvy, you might need to take it to a Samsung Service Center to have them force the update. This information should really be provided in this listing, since if not, your phone may seem fine, but it is actually stuck on software and security updates from 2024! Really awesome phone for a great price. The phone arrived in pretty much mint condition, not a scratch anywhere. Activated on First Net (AT&T) without issue. The Z-flip is snappy and fast, the battery lasts for about 3 days with my light to moderate use, and it's nice to have a phone that fits in your pocket. The outer display lets you make and answer calls, texts and some apps even run on it, so you never have to open it up if you don't want to. I did invest in an Otterbox case and a small holster, it's like 2005 all over again with a flip phone that becomes a full sized phone! No problem updating to Android 16/OneUi 8 and according to Samsung, 7 years of updates for the Z Flip 6 so for under $400 one gets a phone that will last for a few years and get updates. I've been needing to upgrade my phone and decided to purchase the Galaxy Flip 6 because of the affordable pricing on Amazon Renewed products and because the model android is still fairly new. This is my first Amazon renewed purchase and it went well, will probably buy other electronics this way too. The 90 day return policy gives peace of mind. After extensive comparisons on prices, conditions, availability and seller ratings, I decided on this seller. They had the best pricing for the condition listed. The phone arrived quickly, was well packaged and the phone quality is as described. The camera lens have no damage, the charging port and speakers are clean, main screen is perfect condition. There is one tiny scratch on the cover screen, but it's unnoticeable when the phone is on and doesn't impact function. The hinge does have a dent, which was concerning at first. But after inspection it seemed more cosmetic and doesn't effect the functionality of the phone. Which , to me, speaks to the durability of the phone. After using the phone for about a week, I'm glad I made the purchase and upgrade. Its nice to have the flip phone for making and ending phone calls, the slamming it shut satisfaction! I purchased this phone to replace a Flip 4 ( also Amazon Renewed). The Flip 4 lasted about 3 years until the hinge cable gave way (the phone would shut down when folded). I’ve been using the new one for about a month now and it has been great. I really like the larger cover screen and the improved camera. The phone looks and acts brand new. I Love this phone! I just recently switched from an iPhone to android and wanted a newer but less expensive android as my first experience. The phone is in great condition and works well and was extremely easy to set up. My only critiques are the charger does not come with a wall adapter for charging, and it seems to have a lot of built up updates due to it being an unlocked renewed phone.
