  • Great phone specs
If you want a top of the line camera this might not be the phone for you, but if you want a fast phone with double physical sims, removable battery, SD card slot and military grade exterior, this is literally it. I upgraded my husband from the older version of this same phone to this cause those were his requirements and there’s literally nothing else on the market with the same specs he wanted. It’ll break his heart if this model line will ever go away and he’d be forced to relay on cloud storage, e-sim cards and portable battery packs like the rest of modern phone users lol ... show more

  • Most durable cell phone in the world! My opinion.
This is my 3rd XCover Pro and I absolutely rate it as the most useful tool I've ever owned. I dont play games with it. It's really an indispensable part of my day and it's tough as nails. Great battery power. With heavy use, it easily lasts 48 hours. And if you do want to change the battery, just pop the rear cover off, dump the battery out, put the replacement in its place, and snap the cover back on. And yes, after doing that, it still retains its waterproof rating! ... show more

  • Love the interchangeable batteries
It's an upgrade from the XCover Pro. I stayed with the XCover line because I like the easy battery replacement. While hiking, I use the OnX app and I bring extra batteries in case my battery runs low. The battery life is decent. Like my old Xcover Pro, often the screen doesn't respond well, so I have to shut the screen off, then turn it back on. This usually does the trick. It is faster than my old phone. The camera is satisfactory. ... show more

  • U.S. Version Lacks Crucial Features Present In International Models
The XCover7 Pro would be a good (not great but, good) phone ***IF*** not for the plethora of software problems. And if that wasn't bad enough, the worst issues were intentionally created by Samsung. No, I'm not making that up or exaggerating. It has been confirmed multiple times on Samsung forums as well as by a U.S. carrier. On U.S. models multiple features and settings that exist on international models have been purposely removed by Samsung. I should also point out this has been recently happening on other Samsung phone models as well, not just the XCover7 Pro. Here's one egregious example of a crucial setting/feature that exists on the same phones sold in the other countries but not the ones sold in the U.S. = the ability to designate which SIM (either the physical SIM or the eSIM) handles calls, texts, and data. This ruins most of the benefits of having a dual SIM phone. So, for example, if you want to designate your physical SIM be used for calls and texts but your eSIM be used for data (a VERY common scenario when travelling in other countries) you can no longer do it on U.S. models from Samsung because they removed those settings. Likewise, if you want to use a prepaid physical SIM that only does calling/texting and use an eSIM for data (again, commonly done by millions of people) you can no longer get a U.S. phone to do that. At first, when you notice those settings are no longer there, you might think you can use the "Data switching and backup calling" setting which says it will "Use your secondary SIM for mobile data if your primary SIM can't connect." Except it doesn't actually work. And that's not just me - I've read MANY complaints on the Samsung forums and elsewhere of other users of this phone and other recent Samsung models saying it also doesn't work for them. Nevertheless, I went the extra mile and spent a lot of time going back and forth with carrier tech support until they acknowledged: The issue is that your Android device only allows you to select a "Primary SIM" for data, and when your physical SIM is set as primary, it won't use the eSIM for data, even though "Data switching and backup calling" is enabled. So, there you have it... confirmed by the carrier. At this point, you might be thinking OK but if I set the eSIM as the primary SIM then it will work for data. And you'd be right BUT then you can't make calls and texts on your physical SIM because (drum roll please) Samsung also removed the feature in their phone app which allowed you to designate which SIM you use for calls and texts. Now it automatically uses the SIM set to primary. See the problem, they have made it impossible to use a dual SIM phone in any of the situations and scenarios that the vast majority of people actually need to use a dual SIM phone. So, you might wonder why did Samsung remove these crucial features from their models sold in the U.S. Well, literally everything I've read while researching this (which is a lot) all stated it was made to keep the big U.S. carriers (e.g. AT&T, T-mobile, Verizon) happy because they didn't like that customers could easily use eSIMs to get much cheaper rates when roaming or even to avoid paying for their more expensive unlimited data plans. In closing, the above two example of features removed from current U.S. Samsung models aren't the only ones but they give you a strong idea of what Samsung is doing to its U.S. customers... you know, the people actually spending their hard earned money to buy and use Samsung products. As for me, I will be voting with my wallet = this will be the last Samsung product (of any type) I buy unless Samsung starts prioritizing its customers over its greedy corporate partners! ... show more

  • Product NOT compatible with CDMA networks like Verizon
PRODUCT NOT AS ADVERTISED/ LISTED- is NOT compatible with Verizon/ Visible CDMA networks in the US. Purchased phone as a gift for my dad, and because of this, had to switch his service over to Mint Mobile, which runs on T-Mobile's towers (a GSM network). Would have chosen a different (less expensive) phone, if we'd not been lied to by the item description. Already had sunk so much time into set-up that we just opted to keep it. Phone does not ship with manual or charger, so purchase charger (15 amp fast charger) separately if you don't already have one, and any support info comes from the business division of Samsung's website... it can be nearly impossible to find using their site search functionality, FYI. It's a good phone, with all the typical functionality and features to be expected of a new-release Samsung phone, and reviews online, like the recent one in PC Magazine, are accurate, but please know that the product being sold here is NOT compatible with most US-based cellular networks. Seller needs to change misleading product description. ... show more
