I've been very happy with this model compared to my original galaxy watch 8 and it was well worth the money for the upgraded functions! I've had zero connectivity issues with the watch and every feature has worked perfect for my health tracking needs. The size I chose fit perfect for me and has been very enjoyable to use overall! I will say the biggest reason for the upgrade was the new features which compile information much better than previous models and present it in a more easy to read manner! I'll gladly stick with samsung watchs because of usability and durability compared to other brands! ... show more

The watch itself arrived in perfect condition and so far i like it! I wasnt a big fan of square circle ish form factor like this one till i got mine, now that im using it i feel like this new form factor is actually not that bad. I literally just upgraded my watch from galaxy watch 6 to 9 and duhh the upgrades are significant. Its fluid and has many new features. The only downside is the charging speed. It takes 2 hours is to get it full which is way slower compared to my watch 6 that only takes ~1 hour. But fortunately the battery life is good. And also the strap is really short but still usable. Is it worth the money? Well i got myself a 50$ amazon gift card so the value of the watch itself was only ~329 bucks, for someone who just upgraded from watch 6 this is way to go but if you have watch 7 or 8, i wont suggest you to get this watch. ... show more

Great Upgrade from an Old Galaxy Watch!

I upgraded to the 44mm Watch 9 from a Galaxy Watch 5 that served me well for many many years. The performance difference is night and day, opening apps and navigating swiftly instead of lagging. Gemini/Voice recognition is nearly instant too instead of waiting 10 seconds for it to process and query. The biggest jump though was definitely the battery life! I usually go for a workout first thing in the morning followed by a full day at work. With the watch 5 I was lucky to get to lunch before it was low on battery, often needing a recharge just to survive til I was back home. The watch 9 though is INSANE! I am wearing this thing from 6am til 10pm and when tossing it on the charger at the end of the day it's got 60%+ remaining life. I'm confident I could wear it to sleep track and then charge it while showering the next day to make it easily through 24 hrs no sweat. Definitely worthy if you're a few years back and want some future proofing. Will update as time goes on, I know this honeymoon period wears off quick. ... show more

Watch looks good and was easy to setup. New to Samsung watches, always had fitbit. First, it does everything the other watches do but software is not as intuitive. Actually rather clumsy. Battery. I knew going into this purchase that I would get maybe 30 hours per charge, Fitbit Sense gave me 3 days. But what I wasn't expecting was that the watch takes 90 minutes to charge. Tried three different power blocks including a 43w fast charge. My fitbit charged for 3 days in 20 or so minutes. As others mentioned watch band was too small, had to order a larger band. I like many things about the watch but battery issues may be a deal breaker. May be returning it. Not happy. ... show more

As someone who loved her Galaxy Watch 5, I was very excited to finally upgrade to the Watch 9. My old watch finally died this week, which seemed like perfect timing with the new coming out (though I wish I could have taken advantage of pre-order deals but alas). Luckily, I was able to get a replacement pretty quickly and in a color I liked as well. First, I have to say that while I love my watch, it was a bit of a panic attack at first, as the setup was way different from my first watch. As someone who mostly used her watch for productivity tasks, step tracking, and heart rate monitoring during workouts, I found all the new fitness-tracking features extremely overwhelming. I almost sent it back because I wasn't sure if I wanted all these options. Since I didn't want to put up with the lack of functionality and durability of the Fitbit, I decided to stick it out and just turn off some of the features. It was better to have them in case I wanted them later. Once I got my watch working, though, I was very impressed. The fit has been great and it seems more durable than my old watch. The only disappointing thing about it has been that it doesn't work with any of my old Galaxy Watch chargers, which is annoying since I will have to buy new ones. Fairly minor, but still disappointing. I also love that there are so many band options (I personally am not a fan of silicone bands). Overall though, I love the color of my watch and how it feels, and consider it a good value for the money. ... show more

This watch is a significant downgrade from the galaxy watch 5.

I had a galaxy watch 5 prior to getting this watch. The battery life in my watch 5 seemed to cut in half months ago and there was an annoying chip on the screen. I must say this watch 9 is a joke. I googled how to set your settings to maximize the battery life and it still doesn't keep a charge as long as my watch 5 did after the battery life was cut in half. Also, with the way I have to set my watch 9 settings to maximize the battery life, it come at the expense of many features like tracking sleep and heart rate. The watch 5 I just had to put on power saving mode and all the features still functioned and the battery lasted longer. After having this watch 9 for 3 weeks now, it doesn't seem any different than my watch 5 with the exception of the sleep apnea feature which doesn't pertain to me. Samsung has really gone downhill as a company, from phones to watches and even a warranty issue. It would be nice if people could reply to these reviews so someone could tell me if I'm doing something wrong that affects the battery life. My watch 5 would last around 5 days in power saving mode until whatever happened to cause it to drop to 2and a half to 3 days. The watch 9 needs charging every day, and charges slower than molasses. ... show more

I'm coming from the original Galaxy watch from 2018 so this is a very big step up for me, so far the watch has been performing as stated. I'm getting about 2-3 days battery life on the 40 mm which isn't too bad (IMHO) I'm used to having to charge my watch every day. I like I can keep tabs on my blood pressure and heart rate while at work. Still getting used to all the fanciness that this one offers will update in a few months. ... show more

The Samsung Watch 9 is a good-looking watch. I find its thin design is much better looking than the new bulky/thick Samsung Ultra2. This watch looks gorgeous, feels well made, is easy to read and is bright enough at 3000 nits. The Watch 9 is also very comfortable to wear. The new silicone strap makes this possible. I am excited to see the previous strap is gone. The old strap was uncomfortable and always difficult to put on. I was never fond of the previous folding-in strap design. I have experienced battery life from 2 to 3 days which I find acceptable. The watch is turned off when not in use. The biggest problem with the watch is that its charging method is not backwards compatible. It will not charge on my existing wireless charger or charge from the puck of my previous Samsung watch. So, if you do not have a usb-c charger lying around for the included puck, you need to buy that as well. The charging puck included with the Watch 9 has a different charging configuration than what was used in Samsung's previous generations. While on the subject of charging, I noticed that even if the watch is turned off prior to charging, the Watch 9 will boot itself up again while charging. I find this very irritating. Due to this, I now have to remember to turn the watch off AFTER it is fully charged. Maybe it's me, but I do not want the watch to be constantly on when not in use. Charging time is about 2 hours (from 20% to 100% charge). I would have given this watch 5 stars, if it were not for the charging issues I have encountered. ... show more
