Great upgrade from my Samsung Active2 watch.

First of all, I love that the media player will now let me rewind and fast forward YouTube rather than just skip to the next video when wearing earbuds. This might sound like an insignificant feature, but it's valuable to me because I can wear earbuds at work, but I'm not allowed to get my phone out of my pocket. Another notable improvement is that the bezel and other touches to the screen are much more responsive than my old watch, which would sometimes have a delay. The fast charging is significantly better than the charge time of my old watch. I was a little worried for the first few days because it was draining 65% of my battery in less than 4 hours, and I had to carry the charger to work and use a power bank to charge it on lunch break. But I did some googling and learned it was an issue with Google assistant, and once I uninstallled that my battery lasted all day, draining maybe 5% per hour. And that's with having continuous heart rate monitoring and other Samsung Health features like tracking my steps. My only real complaint is that on my old watch, when using voice text, I could say period to make a "." comma to make a "," etc. but on this new phone it only types out the words, and the only way to use punctuation is by using the keyboard. Which can be frustrating when I planned on carrying the watch by itself and using a data plan and number sharing to text when I'm on walks or runs on my days off. Overall, I'm glad I upgraded and found it worth the cost. Especially since my old watch did not have the ability to use standalone with a data plan and numbersharing. ... show more

Best smart watch

I always wanted a smart watch, especially after I lost my normal watch. The galaxy watch 6 is really great for just about anything. You can customize the face and view your calendar on it. In fact, you can even browse the web! (But it's not recommended) Battery life is decent and after about a day of usage it runs down to low 50%s unless I used some of its power-hungry apps, which in that case it will be in the 20%-30% range. I charge it while I shower, so it's full battery before I sleep, and it never runs out! Out of all smart-device manufacturers, I found Samsung to be the most accurate. When measuring pedometer steps, they're only off by about 1-2 steps for every 10,000 steps you take. (I counted) The sleep-tracking feature is really nice too, and with the health trackers and Google calendar support, this watch quickly became my favorite. With the LTE model, I can make an emergency call even without a plan in the event I need one. I hope I won't ever need to, but if somehow my phone was stolen I can call for help. The watch also has NFC, meaning I can pay with it too. It can connect to Wi-Fi to download updates, and is constantly connected to your phone. In general, support with my galaxy phone is very well-done and I recommend Samsung to anyone who wants Android but doesn't like lag, because Samsung devices perform really well at just about any task, and their ecosystem has a lot of open holes where you can connect devices from other manufacturers. Because of this, I can control any nearby device without my phone, even if it wasn't made by Samsung. I can control speakers (but the watch also has a good-quakity speaker itself), and other nearby devices such as lights! I can also respond to texts using the watch, and swipe-typing is really accurate thanks to Samsung's machine learning keyboard. I even wrote E-mails on it when I was in a hurry. Also, this was discounted in a bundle and came with a suitcase tracker, so I decided to buy it since it was a good deal. Decent watch
This is a decent watch. Bright screen easy to read although I need glasses to read the smaller numbers, but that is a problem with my eyes, not the watch. GPS tracking is accurate as expected. The heart rate monitor is accurate, the oxygen saturation measurement is not particularly accurate and should be taken with a grain of salt. I have had readings that, had they been accurate, would have put me in the hospital. As many have mentioned, battery life is not great but you can do a few things to stretch the battery. On the plus side, charging is fast but not a fan of the magnetic charger. The ECG function telling you you don't have atrial fibrillation is a gimmick and not really useful. If you actual had atrial fibrillation you would have collapsed and you wouldn't be checking your watch for it. The wrist band the watch comes with is cheap and awful. As far as apps go it is a nice little mini version of your phone although the watch screen is really not big enough to be super convenient. Sleep tracking is not accurate. Not a bad watch with some limitations. I think the Apple watches are better but they are also a lot more expensive. ... show more

Great quality
At first this watch gave me charging issues; it would only last about half a day before needing to be charged. But since installing the most recent update, the watch stays charged for about 2 days. it connected with my phone perfectly and stays connected. Disappointed ~ Update

I was really excited to add this watch to my life. Advertised as basically having a phone on my wrist. I could leave my phone behind and still connect with people just like my phone. Well, to my disappointment, that is not the case. The only messaging app that I can initiate texts thru is the original text messaging app on the phones. Yet, I talk to the majority of my family thru Facebook messenger and my boyfriend uses another messaging app. Those are not apps that I can put on this watch. So the only way that I can communicate with them is if they message me first. Plus, you can't open any snapchat message on it either. Only on my phone... so I feel like I've just wasted $300 and signed up for an extra mobile monthly service for this watch to act like a phone but ... the only reason it gets one star is because it fits my tiny wrists nicely. I'm not sure why samsung doesn't allow these apps of communication because a lot of us use them. This watch may work better for others but my main reason for purchasing it was communication. Sadly, it fails miserably in that department. Update- I had read reviews on bad battery life but I at least thought it would get me thru my day. I put it on at 8am with 100% charge and by 7 its dead. Love my new watch

This watch has many great functions.. I don't need my phone to view and respond to messages. My work pants don't allow my phone to be with me, so I'm able to see important messages when needed. It's already found my phone multiple times. It has health features but I have yet to set that up. I can change the song that's playing in my ear buds without my phone from the watch. The only con so far is the battery only lasts a day.. Though it only takes an hour to charge. It's not a huge deal to charge it with my phone at night. I wanted a watch more for notifications, control for my music, and google reminders. I've had a fit bit & if you want more of the health features, sleep tracking etc .. the fit bit is more set up for that. This watch can do that but also has its own service for messages, calls, and things like that. ... show more
