So, I’m a little biased, coming from a first generation Apple Watch to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. It’s like jumping from the stone age to the modern age with as fast as technology improves these days. Not only is it a beautiful piece of tech as you can see in the photo I took above last weekend, it’s sturdy as much as it is functional. I work construction, so that this watch still looks as good as it does after a couple of months on job sites and in the rain, is a testament to how durable it is. The battery life is phenomenal to me, I can usually get two days out of it, including wearing it while sleeping, before I have to take it off and let it charge. It charges fast, honestly, and it’s nice to have a small break from wearing it after a bit, so that’s a win in my book. Sleep tracking is something I’m new to, and it is incredibly accurate, I’m just not completely sold on it because I don’t see the use for the information unless I’m doing a sleep study. It was neat to see at first, but the novelty has worn off. All of the active trackers are pretty accurate, the stair flights tracker is the least accurate, I climb stairs multiple times a day, and sometimes it just doesn’t register up to a third of the flights I’ve climbed. The new blood-oxygen tracker should absolutely be taken with a grain of salt, since the tip of the finger ones work so well because the laser is able to shine through the fingertip, whereas the wrist is much thicker. A word of warning, do your research, if you’re buying this to use on an iPhone, you are going to be moderately limited in available functionality with this watch; no text message app, Spotify only acts as a Play/Pause/FW/RW app. No real deal breakers for me, but read up on it just to see if it is for you. Overall, Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is a solid smart watch and gorgeous to boot, that dial is so buttery smooth, and using it for calls makes me feel like Dick Tracy. No real complaints, but I knew its limitations ahead of time, so consider that when letting me influence you. ... show more

Did a lot of research on smart watches, and settled on this one. I'm VERY happy I did! I primarily wanted a watch that was multifunctional, over and above fitness tracking. This watch is that! Endlessly configurable and works seamlessly with the Wearables app as well as the fitness tracking app. I had read the Samsung watches could be a pain setting up with a non Samsung phone- NOT true! It was a very easy process interfacing with my Pixel 5, with very good instructions from the watch and Wearables app (it prompts you when to complete a step from your phone). Notifications are almost instantaneous from your phone, and you can reply to texts, emails, calls, etc. from the watch using quick replies (you can add your own), keyboard (cumbersome at best), or voice typing. Answer or reject calls, with excellent clarity from the speaker and mic. Add widgets you can access by rotating the bezel- weather and forecasts, contacts, calendar, daily schedule, heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep info (awake, REM, light sleep, deep sleep) as percentages and graphs. While the watch comes with Spotify preinstalled (preinstalled apps can be uninstalled), I use Pandora. A music widget allows you to control Pandora from the watch (play/pause, forward, backward, volume (turning the bezel), and the album art displays beneath the buttons. Widgets are customizable, and you can change the order in which they appear. This just scratches the surface of what this watch can do. After years of useful/practical daily service from my Gear Fit2 Pro Smartwatch, I upgraded to the Galaxy Watch3 Bluetooth (not LTE enabled) and have been pleased with it thus far. I reorganized some app locations after a day of figuring out the most efficient access layout. I opted for the 45mm version as I happen to like being able to more easily "read" the text of typed correspondence in contrast to the aforementioned previous smartwatch. I set the responsiveness for sensitive with no sense of lagging as I will also use with gloves while cycling (pending gloved usage update). I've activated Samsung Pay and have returned on 28MAR2021 to document same watch physical placement(s) as phone using installed app resulted in equivalent success rate. All installed apps (calendar, timer, weather, Samsung Health, etc.) are clear and detailed. I successfully dictated/sent a text message message (was provided option to send dictated message audio snippet) from the watch, so text-to-speech appears to function properly. I also installed the ECG app and immediately "took an ECG reading" which is saved to the linked account & transferred to the phone. Surprisingly, I discovered I can answer calls and talk to the watch while simultaneously hearing the call via the watch (watch is connected to phone via Bluetooth). I was able to get 1.5 days on a single charge using the timer for breaks/lunch which drains the battery a little faster (weekend usage may lengthen time between charges if no additional functions are required). Although the included leather band was fine, I replaced with a "Titanium-inspired" walnut/metal band designed to fit the 22mm width requirement to compliment my zebra-wood frames and is better suited to a more active lifestyle. I also opted to install a Tempered Glass Screen Protector w/1-pc black Bumper Case for increased peace of mind a/k/a "Murphy's Law" insurance. To avoid 3 more USB charger cables, I deployed a case-friendly 3-in-1 **Fast Wireless Charging Station capable of charging my Galaxy Series phone(s) (i.e. Galaxy S20 Ultra {Galaxy S4 mini pictured}), Galaxy Watch3 & Galaxy Buds+. I opted for a "certified renewed" version and it turned out to be a practical/prudent move avoiding "watch-lot depreciation". The daily functionality combined w/fit & finish 2nd to none with enough complimentary available accessories makes this a smooth transition if you already use Samsung products (i.e TV, Phone, Tablet, Smartwatch, etc.). **NOTE: I did observe the watch & phone back got warmer to the touch and although the tech is supposed to stop charging, I remove both items after observing fully charged to be safe. ... show more
