I purchased this for driving navigation. It was great except GPS loss occurred multiple times where phone gps works just fine. I wanted to use other device than my phone to avoid too overheating, but GPS kept went lost, unable to use it properly. This error is probably just my device issue, not entire Galaxy Tab A 8.0" model, so I returned. It has GPS service available, aside from having Cell signal. I read multiple Q&A and reviews here saying GPS is not equipped without having an WiFi, but that is NOT TRUE. You may get locational information from WiFi connection, but GPS is totally separate thing from WiFi or Cell signal. GPS is equipped in this device. This product has GPS. The problem of WiFi only tablet is that once the device is disconnected from the WiFi, there is no more live updates regarding to the Navigation. (e.g. traffic incidents causing ETA delays won't show up) The product I received happened to have a bad GPS receiver, so I returned it. That is the ONLY REASON I returned it. ... show more

These were purchased for each of our group homes shortly after a state-wide, pandemic-related shut-down was enacted. Because families weren't able to come visit, and because the people we support weren't able to attend their day programs in person, these tablets were an effective and economical way to ensure that people could still participate in the usual activities of their daily lives, even if they were unable to do so in person. The devices are primarily used for Zoom, Facetime, Google Meets or MS Teams video visits with family members and friends, or to participate in remote programing through the person's Day Services provider. The tablets work very well, with good video quality, good wifi connections and enough processing power to make engagement as meaningful as possible in a remote or virtual setting. An excellent alternative to the pricier iPads or other tablets. Very stable, and durable enough to be used (with a case) by folks with developmental and physical disabilities on a daily basis.     • Works with my Mavic Air 2 drone.
I just bought this so that I could fly my DJI Mavic Air 2. It was pretty much the cheapest tablet that I could buy that would run the DJI Fly App. It's a little slow and doesn't have a compass in it but it works for my drone so I'm happy. The only problem with the Drone is that with no compass you can't track your drone as well. You have to go buy visual site instead of the arrow pointing to where your drone is because it doesn't work when you don't have a compass. Other than that I'm very happy. ... show more

I bought this to make videos for my channel and it is just awful. I am not super picky and was not looking to make really high quality or complicated videos, literally just point and shoot for up to 30 minutes. This thing is ridiculously slow, has hardly any storage (it cut off mid shoot because I ran out of space with only about an hours worth of video on it). Picture quality is hit or miss. The absolute most frustrating part is that it does not have the "make a movie" feature in the Gallery. I have this feature on my phone and it makes it super easy to splice an intro and an outro to my videos in a flash, but on this tablet, I had to download another app which is way more time consuming than the feature on my phone. Like I said, my expectations were low to begin with and with my budget, I was not expecting phenomenal, but this is just not user friendly at all. ... show more

Nice basic tablet to replace my wife's old one that died. She's happy with it and is not big on having the latest and greatest. It's faster than her old one that died and has better colors. I'd recommend it.
