The phone was not unlocked so I can't use it says my sim is invalid because it's not Verizon. Will be returning shortly to purchase from someone else as this is very inconvenient.

  • Unlike the S7 and before the S8 uses the "new style" type C charging cord, altho mine came with one.
I've had absolutely NO problems with the refurbished Samsung Galaxy 64GB Verizon unlocked phone I purchased. Surprisingly it came packaged almost like a brand new phone and although it says "refurbished" it appears to be brand new. Even had the original temporary plastic screen protector- looking stuff on the screen and even around the charging port and headphone jack. Also it came with a factory type C charging cable (for the "new" style charging ports), the wall charger, headphones, and TWO type adapters...so if you have "old" charging cables laying around and still want to use them you just simply put the adapter on the phone end of the cable. I was really shocked it came with all the extras because it wasn't in the description. The battery holds a charge longer than my S7 and IT lasted AWHILE. I would recommend this phone to anyone. Great deal on a great phone! ... show more

  • phone had issues - returned
I got this Galaxy S8 for $339. It had several scratches all around the phone. Looked like it had been dropped a few times. There was noticeable, but light scratches on one area of the screen. Didn't come with a SIM card. The charger was some 3rd party piece of junk. The cord was fine, but the box wasn't. It was refurbished, this was the chance I took. So I was okay with it. Set up the phone, used the Smart Switch app to copy over things from my old phone. Everything seemed great. Until I noticed the battery draining 4 to 5 percent per hour when in deep sleep (no apps running, and phone not in use). I did all kinds of things to try to figure out what was causing the issue. Spent several days trying things, and nothing made a difference. Something was wrong with the phone, but I couldn't figure out what and didn't want to deal with it anymore. I sent it back and got a full refund. This is why I felt comfortable taking a chance on a refurbished phone - because I knew I wouldn't be stuck with a bad phone buying through Amazon. I still needed a phone. And, it turns out, for just 60 dollars more on Samsung's website, I was able to get a brand new Galaxy S8. It came with a Samsung fast charger AND an adapter to turn my old FAST CHARGING micro usb charger into a usbc charger. So, basically two fast chargers came with it. It also came with a SIM card. I would recommend paying the extra 60 bucks rather than gambling on the history of a phone that you would get here. ... show more

  • Some neat camera features.
I've had a Samsung phone ever since the first Galaxy GT-17500 came out. Then it was the Galaxy Spica or Galaxy S. My first true smart phone was an iPhone and I thought I liked it, but hell, what did I have it to compare to, until i got the Galaxy and it was much simpler to use it was laid out in a way that was user friendly and has remained so for 11 years now. I'd recommend the Galaxy S series to anyone, well, up to the S8 anyway. Hopefully I'll get the chance to review the S10 one day, we'll just have to wait and see. I've had this phone activated about a week now and I've enjoyed playing around with it so far. I usually stay a few yrs behind the newest model that's available, mostly it's just the same phone with an upgraded camera with some neat features. This one has a slow motion, ultra slow motion and a time delay type feature. Plus the quality improved when the pixels went up. It was easy to transfer everything from my S7 to this one by backing up everything to the cloud and or a Google account. The google accounts are nice bc you don't lose apps (games) you've been playing a while and have to start over. Some people know this already but some do not. Just set up a google account back your phone up to it then login to it on the new one. I believe this was a refurbished phone, not new, I got from this company and so far haven't had any problems. ... show more

  • Great refurbished phone
I use Verizon and this refurbished Samsung S8 worked perfectly. I simply booted it up and went through the setup, then powered off, installed my old SIM card (from my previous Samsung J3), and powered back on. Worked instantly! I'm not a very materialistic person, so I always wait to get the "latest and greatest" until it's a few years old, and significantly cheaper in price. For me, the upgrade in camera performance compared to my old J3 is incredible. Other nice features I enjoy are the fingerprint reader and iris scanner for biometric login. The screen resolution and maximum brightness are also nice upgrades. Being a refurbished phone, I'd like to comment on the quality. On the screen, there were approximately 20 microscopic scratches. By microscopic, I mean almost invisible with the screen off, and not at all visible with the screen on. There were only two real scratches, which were approximately 2-3 mm in size. They are only noticeable with the screen off if you hold the phone at the right angle to the light, and they are not visible at all when the screen is on. There were no chips or cracks in the screen. The camera, charge port, and headphone jack all work flawlessly. The software is genuine U.S. model software, and I have received several updates already (I think it had 7.0 nougat and now it's on 9.0 pie), including security patches. In short, never pay full price for a phone! Buy a model that's a couple years old and buy refurbished and save yourself lots of money. You will be completely satisfied with your purchase. Thanks for reading my honest review. ... show more

  • Excellent phone-like new!!
I initially was skeptical about buying a refurbished phone. Not only was the quality important to me, but the phone had to be unlocked. I was so pleased to see the phone arrive in excellent condition-looks just like new to me! The camera and speakers work like new as well! The battery life is excellent. The phone is completely unlocked and I had no issues setting it up to my carrier. Based on another review here, I ordered from Electronic Deals, and I happily recommend them to someone who is thinking about buying a refurbished phone! The only hiccup I had was the phone charger it came with gave a slow charge, which i was expecting based off previous reviews. I bought a new charger for $20 and it was no issue. Satisfied and happy! ... show more
